It is disappointing that the charge HR does not have a cycling activity . Sadly I will have to return it for something that allows a bike ride to be tracked. Hopefully Fitbit does something about the lack of the cycling activity I do like the other features just really need cycling.
+1 This is an insane, pointless limitation. Fitbit are you listening? As a software dev myself I know how easy it would to be to a) allow a whole range of activities in the "track exercise" dropdown and b) allow repeated editing of activities in the UI. Instead there's a ridiculous limitation when tracking of selecting only walk, run or hike in the Android app, and you can't edit the type of exercise in the web UI for tracked exercises.
While I'm here, there are so many other poor bits of UI in the web app. Why can I only edit exercises once? Why does choosing certain activities null out distance, and some don't? Why can't I edit my custom activities properly (eg I now have multiple "squash" activities, one nulls distance, one doesn't). Oh and the endomondo "sync" is completely pointless - workouts and routes don't show up.
Honestly I _love_ the Charge HR itself, I hate the pointless app restrictions and poor web UI, especially around cycling, and no I don't want a huge Surge on my wrist...
Fitbit - I hope you are out there somewhere listening to the feedback... your software needs serious updating if you are to remain top-dog...
I've noted quite a bit of interest in adding a bicycling option to the fitbit app of iOS. I'd like to add that us android users would like that too. I understand that the fitbit tracker might have an issue actually tracking "steps" when bicycling so in this case bicycling is more about that heart rate and general fitness. At the very least, you could add the ability to modify the information on your dashboard so a recorded event that is "hiking" could be changed to bicycling.
I really like how we can track where we run/walk/hike, it would be nice if we could also do this with biking, rollerblading, and other outdoor activities
Please add cycling (and while you're at it, why not other options like other apps have? .. Sports tracker tracks alot of things from golf, paddling, skiing, rowing mountain biking, fitness classes and more .. )
I agree! I didn't realize the feature wasn't there until I started to go on a bike ride and my husband had to use his other app. Seems it would use the same technology and math, so just options to track more would be great. Even if you had to manually enter the name 🙂
Yes, more iptions like other exercise trackibg aps wiul be great.. Like biking, paddleing, etc. Just walk n run is not enough... I have to use other apps n then "log" the results in ny Fitbit app.
Just to clear things up for some of you: They can't add this feature to the Charge HR... it doesn't have GPS and it would be impossible for it to track distance. A "bike mode" on the Charge HR would basically just involve turning off the step counter and only using the HR data.
This request is for the iOS/Android app to get a bike mode.
FITBIT! PLEASE GIVE US A BIKE MODE IN THE MOBILE APP!!! I think it would take somebody at your company less than a week to implement this suggestion.
