Thank you for all of your support in seeking the bicycle tracking feature. Unfortunately I have received no response from fitbit regarding my enquiry. Kind regards Danah
Agree with everyone else. I don't see that there's any effort on Fitbit's part to support this. The iPhone app is already able to use GPS to track and map an activity. Its really just the option in the app to select cycling in addition to walking, running or hiking.
I don't see a technical justification for this not to have been implemented years ago. The only reasoning I can imagine is that Fitbit is considering releasing a product specifically tailored to cycling and they want to withhold this function from their earlier products. Seems foolhardy to me if it means sales go to Apple Watch or Garmin or some other competitor.
Check your watches: lately I noticed a lot of new options of exercises and I tested the bike option, and it showed my route, so it definitely has a tracking feature 😊
Nope. Definitely no new options. Fitbit are not adding functions claiming you need to buy a new tracker. That's a terrible approach to customers. By withholding functions to try and drive demand this will just make me look at other trackers because I hate this kind of business practice. Fitbit should make the best thing, update the app to support all functions with all trackers and rely on us wanting to replace our Fitbit with another, oh and maybe tell others how great they are.
I would like the option to choose "bike" when tracking my activity with GPS. Currently we only have the choice of run, walk, and hike. I know that is possible on the Charge 2 and Blaze. Please make it possible for the Alta HR.
I agree that an easier way to post cycling would be great! Very time consuming to add it manually and would love to be able to track my progress on the bike.
I bought the Charge 2 some months ago and it did not have the possibility to track biking. But since the last update it now has. But to auto-identify biking I still have not experienced.
The charge hr will recognise cycling as such, but it can't do gps tracking. The irony is this is nothing to do with the tracker and entirely whether Fitbit has disabled app functionality depending on the model of trackers. That's poor form. I've pretty much given up on Fitbit doing the decent thing now. I use Strava to track my cycling. I'm hoping my charge Hr can last long enough for someone else to make a better alternative to the charge 2 because I just don't want to do business with Fitbit any more.
