Track miles on pairs of shoes

There should be a way to track the amount of km's (miles) you performed during your exercises.

You should also implement a way to reset the counter increase you've swapped your shoes. Or have several counters for those who prepare a marathon and use two pairs of running shoes.

Thanks in advance!

I track my shoe mileage via Strava, which is linked to my fitbit account
and activity... it's a painful way to have to do it... but as you said, the
Fitbit developers aren't working or listening... I think they are on an
island somewhere drinking good beverages 😛

Thanks! Don’t know why I never thought of that before.

It works pretty good, but it is still a silly workaround that we shouldn't
have to do. but for now, no other options really...

This really should be implemented. Competitor apps have it. Don't you want to stay ahead of the game, Fitbit?

must have feature . would help in injury issues due to shoes and also to check if the shoes are good or not for the recommended distance

There should be an add shoe option on the dashboard so that you can add multiple shoes and keep track of the mileage on them, with options to classify the type of run that you did. For example, sprints, hills or a regular run, etc. We should post another similar post and encourage people to up vote this original posting.

I’d like to endorse this idea also. I use MapMyFitness more than I use fitbit because of how user friendly it is and the add gear feature. I’m still figuring out the Fitbit app but would be encouraged to use it if I could get this additional feature

Please add a feature to track mileage on your shoes. I have to log runs on Runtastic for this now and it’s a pain. Almost all fitness tracking apps have this feature. Why doesn’t FitBit?

It’s been nearly 3 years since this was first suggested. Please make this a feature. It can’t be that difficult to write some code for the app...THANKS!

Would be nice to be able to enter the date that i buy a new pair of running shoes and then have my Fitbit track the mileage from that date forward so I know when to replace my shoes.

Yes! Please add this feature in an upcoming update. It would be really nice to know how many miles a new pair of shoes have on them! I also had the feature on Garmin and miss it on Fitbit.

Community member opinion and I say YES PLEASE add this feature!

I am currently hassling over apps in Google App store trying to find which app is friendlier and more ad-free. I just bought 2 new pairs of shoes: running and plyometrics/gym. I need to start evaluating my shoes' lifetime because I've almost had 2 accidents using old shoes this week.

This is a very doable AND HIGHLY desired feature. I was talking to another colleague at work and she is using Runtastic app for her shoes. Please help us put together all of our workout necessities on Fitbit. I really loathe having multiple apps for my active lifestyle.

Any update on adding this feature?   Been out there a long time..........

🙌🏻 YES!! I hate that I have to have 2 apps one for all my fitness tracking and another for equipment/shoe tracking! Add this please!!

I agree! However, Fitbit doesn't listen... so I track miles on my shoes in
Strava 😛 via the fitbit tracking 😛

Same here. I got tired of having multiple thing to keep track of steps and
shoes, so I have actually stopped using Fitbit altogether. I have moved to
Garmin. Not user friendly app, but does the job of tracking my steps and
exercise and shoes. It can have different default shoes for different type
of exercise.

Generally my "shin" alarms me with sharp pain when I go past 300 miles on
my shoes.

Yeah... when you start getting pains, normally first thing to look at is
what shoes you're using and how old they are 🙂

I have recently started using only my fitbit and fitbit app to track my exercise.  I would love to be rid of another app but it tracks my tennis shoes wear.  I tell it when I purchase the shoes, it tracks my exercise and then lets me know when I need to purchase a new pair.  I would love for this to be added to the dashboard.  It would be so nice to have it all in one place.  Thank you!!

I enter the day I bought my new shoes and fit bitnotifies me when I’ve reached  the recommended mileage for new shoes. For those with more than I pair the shoes could be tracked separately if given the option to label each pair and to identify which pair is being used on any given run.

Please add a shoe/gear tracker soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, this would be great! As it is, i’m using another app to track shoes, and it’s very tedious/battery draining to another app open/tracking my mileage just in my running shoes, in addition to my fitbit, which does everything else.

Is there a way Fitbit can add a notes section under exercise.  It would be nice if I can manually enter my sneakers and add my mileage so I know how many miles I have on my sneakers.  If there were drop downs and the system calculated every time the sneakers were picked and the mileage totaled that would be even better!!!  Thanks.

i'm using fitbit for a while now. But I was wondering. Would you can make it possible to register your running shoes on fitbit, so fitbit can tell you how many miles/kilometers you have done with a pair of shoes ans also can tell you when you have to buy new ones?

I think that would be a useful item.

Had exact same thought,

I like the idea of an A pair, a B pair, etc.

The relevant data is already there: runner's weight, whether the miles and logged outdoor or on a treadmill etc.

It could notify the user that you're nearing the 500 mile range and suggest patterns for breaking in new pairs.

Let's do this FitBit!
