Tracker Dying and Software picking up data

Great idea here that would really benefit people. I know I along with other people have the problem of when their fitbit dies, that no steps are recorded for the remainder of the day. My idea here would be to have a software update that uses the phones capability to record steps. Once the tracker dies, the app could start counting steps until the fitbit is charged again. Obviously there would have to be some stipulations, such as that the user must first own a fitbit and have it activated before this feature would work. I have talked to software developers and they have said that this is something that could definitely be done, with not much trouble at all. I think this would really help the majority of users and would also increase the appeal of the product and make it better to buy. Also, I do not believe that other products have this feature, so it could be a first of a kind. Thank you and I would love to hear if this is something other people would find helpful and if we get enough support, perhaps the development team could look into this and make it possible

Great idea! Or maybe when you forget your tracker too. Whenever I forget my tracker I enable mobile track.

I agree with you, even when Mobile Run exists for those instances when your tracker is out of charge or you leave it at home.. If you wear your tracker while using MobileRun, the steps, active minutes, and calories burned that you see on your Fitbit dashboard come from the tracker. Otherwise your phone is used to calculate this data. During the workout you can view your elapsed distance, time, and average pace as well as use the music controls in the Fitbit app. 

It would be great to implement an app that automatically changes from the tracker to it in order to record your data without missing anything.
