I too would appreciate this.  Too go back and forth between accounts is cumbersome as a parent, and I don't see a need for this when it's on my own device. At least the option to turn it off between child accounts or put a child's password on their own accounts so that they can type it in and switch to their account without my intervention.  My kids want to be in control of viewing their own profiles and syncing their fitbit to the app in order to see history, badges, etc.  The app doesn't even sync unless you are logged into the child's account which means I have to log out of child 1's account and log into my own, then log into child 2's account, both times entering my password.  Huge damper on the experience.

I would also appreciate this. I have three kids and it’s annoying to have to type my password in multiple times just to update them and let them see their status in our challenges. I don’t need a password so the ability to turn that feature off would be delightful.

I completely agree. The syncing for multiple kids is so tedious (and forces the parent to be involved EVERY time) that my kids have totally abandoned their Fitbits. They want to be able to do something so

simple on their own, and that’s what I want to. There’s zero reason for me to need to be involved with daily syncing.

They absolutely loved them: loved checking their steps throughout the day, loved beating their own step records, and loved comparing steps among the family. They are 6 and 8 and very independent and capable, but they don’t have their own devices; we share one family iPad. With the way Fitbit handles family accounts, we have to (1) switch from parent view to kid view, (2) sync, (3) switch back to parent view, (4) enter password [REQUIRING PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT], (5) switch to other kid’s view, (6) sync. You can do way better Fitbit.

Keep in mind that syncing is the only way to ensure date/time stays accurate; ours often get out of sync when the kids’ batteries runs out. So syncing is not optional… not just a means to get your stats online.

How about just allowing a direct switch from one kid view to the next with no password? If you find it necessary, allow parents to control which kid profiles are enabled on each device — that would allow flexibility for families where kids do not share devices.

I would also love to see the ability to switch between accounts improved. The fact that I have to toggle to each account (mine, and two of my kids' accounts) in order for their trackers to sync, their sleep stats to display on their trackers, and their steps to be accurate in the community (just a friend and their grandma that they like to compete with) is really tedious and I don't get around to it as much as they'd like me to. Having to enter my password each time to get back to my parent view is time consuming and since they don't generally use my phone, I'd like to be able to disable the password for my profile.

I'm not sure if this part is because they're not in range of my phone for long periods of the day when they're at school, but about every other day I have to get my iPhone XS to "forget" the bluetooth connection to their Ace Jr 3 tracker and then reconnect it again, because it gets stuck and can't sync even though they're in the same room. I've tried syncing one kid to our iPad and one kid to an old iPhone we have to get around having to toggle between accounts on my phone, but the same bluetooth issue happens and so this doesn't really help. Also, they both have an Ace 3 and I can't find a way to name their devices so they're both just listed as "Ace 3" in the bluetooth menu and it can be hard to know which one to forget and reconnect, so I usually end up doing them both. My Luxe never has bluetooth issues; I presume because I'm more regularly near my phone?

I agree that having to enter a password to switch to a childs account is not a security concearn.

With the other direction, child to parent, it would be a security concearn. Unless you don't mind the child having access to your fitbit account, and settings.

I’ve been asking for this for 3 years now… and still nothing, I have 3 kids and they are unable to be independent when it comes to syncing their fitbits on a shared device. Please listen to the community and enable our kids to switch between their profiles without the need to go back to the parents first.

I would definitely appreciate the ability to quickly swap between child and parent views. The fitbit app is somewhere I check multiple times a day and this only increases due to kids asking to see their stats. Then combining this with the fact that I use a secure fitbit only password which I don't remember and have to fetch from a password manager it is laborious and while I do it I am not happy and frustrated each time. I would like to see one of the two options:
1. Ability to choose if I am prompted for a password when swapping to parent view. Selecting this option would completely disable the requirement for a password. By default it could be on but the parents choice to disable it. If security is a concern perhaps disabling it for a period of time - 30 days would work.

2. For phones with biometrics enabling the finger print scanner (much like financial apps do) to speed up login times. This would reduce the friction but maintain a level of security.

After a year of frustration with having to toggle back and forth with password to see each of my 3 kids (me, kid 1, me, kid2, me, kid 3, me)… today it’s even worse. I have to do a full login (email and password) to see my account and I can’t even access my kids data.
if you are going to be a wearable tech company then you really need to do better with the technology part.

Similar to other comments, please consider turning this off.   This is extremely tedious as a parent to just Sync our Progress. As a parent, there is no need to complete a password to toggle back and forth.

Having to enter a password each time  I want to switch between seeing my stats and my two children’s stats is very tedious. Please allow on option to require a password or to choose not to have a password.
