Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'

I love the quick view feature however when I'm sleeping I tend to wave my arms around which activates the display which sometimes wakes me up, especially if my wrist is close to my face.

My fitbit knows when I'm sleeping as it tracks my sleep so how about having the capability to disable quick view automatically whilst I'm sleeping, in fact don't even have it as a selectable option just don't trigger quick view when my fitbit knows I'm sleeping.

This same request has been made for other models as well.... none have ever been implemented on models with the OLED display.

I suspect the fitbits do not have the ability to control the brightness, but there is surely a way to disable the display at night.

I can't believe that the #1 brand in the wearable tracker market STILL after years of being requested does not have a display that has a brightness controlled display......  almost 2000 votes for this, and all I see is lip service from fitbit.

A new model? Ambient light? On a device that knows when I am sleeping?
Gimme a break.

Quick view is a forever off feature. The support discussion is familiar.

Mr Buttsaw,

I was responding to another post you apparently did not read. It was about Fitbit not being able to implement this feature without creating a new model, one that can recognize ambient light. Try a little civility.

Does FitBit even give back feedbacks.. i'm getting the feeling that i made a mistake by buying a FitBit.......

Same with the Music Feature which by selecting the proper phone and wearable still says it controls music. eventhough it doesnt.

Please make atleast the frekking displays brightness adjustable! It is way to bright at night!

Unfortunately I would agree that you made a mistake. The company has gotten to big and could care less about this forum. If you can take it back, I would.

There are thousands of posts. Too many too read. But I agree and wanted to share my experiences with trying to get their attention to this matter. It is hopeless.

Yeah fitbit doesnt care appartnetly. Their whole API dev and feature request board is just so customers think theo care. But they cleary couldnt care less...

Good job. But atleast as an IT professional people take my reccomemdations serious and i will sure as hell tell people NOT to get a fitbit device!

Cant be that there are thousands of upvotes but not a single official statement!

Yes! I completely agree with this. I'm guessing this would also save some battery.

Please seriously consider an option for auto dimmer or manual set dimmer during sleep times. We all know that this bright light interrupts our sleep patterns, which is totally contrary to what we are all trying to achieve: adequate, restful, healthy, deep sleep.  The iPhone did it, so let's do it here!  Thank you for your consideration.

Apparently such topics were already made on all other devices but fitbit doesnt care at all!

Here is another Topic with almost 2000 upvotes for this topic:

Still absolutely no feedback that they are even thinking about implementing that. Seems like they don't wear their wearables at night 😃

It seems this is a common problem.  I, like most other people, do not want to be woken by bright lights on my Charge2 while sleeping.  There is already an app option to add the "Notification" to the Charge2 screen.  I like this feature as I am a systems developer and have my Charge2 set to receive notifications.  I get notifications from my servers and can quickly glance at my Charge2 to see if there are any server issues.

At night I can turn the notifications off by pressing and holding the button when on the Notifications menu.  This turns off the notifications until I turn it back on in the morning.

I like the "gesture" feature during the day, but at night when turning in bed the screen turns on and wakes me.  Like most other people on this forum, I agree this is completely annoying.  The only way to turn the "gesture" off, is to access the app from the phone and turn off "Quick View".  However, Quick View also prevents notifications from appearing on the display automatically.

My proposal is this.  Separate "Quick View" from the gesture and notifications option.

I would label "Quick View" to "Gesture".  When on, and you wave/raise your hand the screen turns on.  When off, and you wave/raise your hand nothing happens.

The new Gesture button does not affect the appearance of notifications on the screen.  There is already a notifications option in the app, and a menu on the band.  Let the user choose the appropriate notification option on the band, thus enabling the user to turn off notifications at bed time.

Next add a schedule option to the app.  When the user creates a schedule, let them add Notifications, Gestures, and anything else that's appropriate to the schedule.  Now the app can be set to prevent Gestures, and Notifications, to turn on and off at set times.

Please add this to all of the Trackers since with me and my wife having the Fitbit's it's rather annoying when either of us move and the light's come on to wake us up.

I ended up disabling the quick view because I kept waking up my husband with the light

Yes. I would love such a feature too. The display lights up the whole room like outside lightening and wakes me up and disturbs my wife and baby

I use my Charge 2 to track my sleep every night but I move around a lot in my sleep. I find when I move around my Fitbit seems to think I'm raising my arm to see the time and the screen goes on really bright and wakes me up. There should be a quick setting on the menu where I can turn the fitbit onto night mode and during that time the "raise to see the time" feature is shut off and you have to push the button in order to see the time.

Night mode setting would be great! Enabled and modified in phone app.

Same here… Last product I buy from them if this is not corrected before I find another product to change this one. Every night me and my wife get up because of the light.

A Little bit ironic for a product to analyse and improve sleeping, don’t you think?

Thank you in advance.

You have my vote for this option, this is absolutely necessary for Charge 2 - I do get woken up blinded by this light too! My suggestion is to introduce 'night mode" and "inactive mode":

- NIGHT MODE: for fixed time scheduled within the app (like, 10pm-8am):

- INACTIVE MODE: on demand.

For both modes, the only way to turn the display on should be pressing the button. No movement of the wrist, no tapping on the screen - just intentional action of turning it on. Inactive mode could additionally stop counting steps (just as if Charge 2 went asleep).  Not only would this help at night, but also in other weird situations - for example, when I'm in a theatre and clapping my hands (like, standing ovations for a good play :)) the light turns on AND it counts my clapping as steps (!).

I think the Fitbits should have  a brightness screen.. something that thing is just too bright all together
