Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'

I love the quick view feature however when I'm sleeping I tend to wave my arms around which activates the display which sometimes wakes me up, especially if my wrist is close to my face.

My fitbit knows when I'm sleeping as it tracks my sleep so how about having the capability to disable quick view automatically whilst I'm sleeping, in fact don't even have it as a selectable option just don't trigger quick view when my fitbit knows I'm sleeping.

Thanks for adding Auto-On on for text messages.  I depend on Auto-On when I rotate my wrist too.  However, I'd also like to disable these features when I'm sleeping.  I'm a light sleeper and the screen regularly wakes me up when I turn over.  Please keep the double tap during those hours though.  Thanks.

This feature please. I have to take off the watch at night because it makes me or my wife up in the middle of the night.

Please add this.   I like quick view during the day, but there is no reason for it to activate when one is sleeping.    Either a custom time window to disable it, or if you tell it you are sleeping.

On the charge 3 and versa, you can hold in the left button and easily turn off automatic display for the night, and then turn back on in the morning, also works in situations you don’t want it to turn on with movements like the movies

Thank you! I feel dumb for not knowing that. I think I've actually
seen that long left push menu even when I first set up the watch.

I tried that and it makes absolutely no difference.
This is a BUG, not an extra 'feature' we should be requesting. Even cheap
electronic devices have a dark mode.
Really poor service.

Some one else actually posted it as a response to me, so don’t feel dumb, I have been loving it and thought you would too

I already have auto display Quick View permanently turned off.

Even with Quick View OFF the Charge 3 light will STILL wake you up if you accidentally bump it!

This is not a solution. The problem still exists.

Not going to upgrade or buy anymore Fitbit products until this problem is resolved!

I'm not sure why people keep mentioning this quick view on/off toggle. It
makes NO difference. The thing still lights up like a fairground at night,
whether quick view is enabled or not.

For the Alta HR, as the display is quite bright and disruptive to sleep, rather than having to go in and turn off the Quick View each night, it would be nice if it could just be set, same as the Reminders to Move

The VivoSmart watches have been on my next to buy list too. Garmin just seems to put more effort into their products.

I don't need to track my sleep so much right now, when my Sciatica was bad, it was good to track but its not so bad right now.

Hi @fitzpatrickc , thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. Don't forget to add your vote!

A movie theater mode that turned off all notifications as well as gesturing to turn on the screen would be awesome. Also, an airplane mode to turn off bluetooth in the same setting would be cool. If all of these things were togglable (so you could turn off some things but leave others on) it would be extra awesome.

It's unfortunate that when I sleep with my FB, anytime I turn my wrist just so the bright green display light goes on. It can happen while beginning to relax and adjusting sheets and blankets, when getting up during the night, etc. I would like to be able to set a preference to prevent the display light from turning on between certain hours when I'm typically asleep.

Hi @Xebra, thanks for the suggestion. We have a very similar one here, I think that having both would be awesome!

Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for sharing your suggestion.  I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, they are not talking about the green lights specifically since they are used to detect your heart rate to provide you with more details about your sleep. Please keep adding your comments into this thread. We're glad to see you around.

Thanks, I searched but didn't find this.

These suggestion posts are only here to placate people and give them false hope. This is never going to happen. I've never regretted a purchase as much as my Fitbit Ionic. Never buying a Fitbit again, no respect or consideration for what consumers want.

Can someone remind me how to turn off notifications to this post, or to leave it???

I'm trying to figure out why this hasn't been implemented yet. Perhaps there is an issue with the Fitbit determining sleep start and end in the moment? Are the start and finish sleep markers determined after a period of time? If this is the case, I see at least two good options:

1) Have a transition period--"the screen wake will be disabled AFTER 'being asleep' for 10 minutes (or however long the Fitbit needs to determine sleep). And, "screen wake may take 10 minutes to regain functionality after waking."

And/Or

2) Have a schedule. Alarms are already able to be scheduled... This should be easy to implement. "Disable screen wake between the hours of X and X."

This product touts the importance of sleep, tracking, etc... It is beyond me why Fitbit is avoiding implementing a simple fix to a very commonly described problem (it doesn't take more than a Google to see many are requesting this feature) that actively disrupts the very benefit/propose this product is supposed to bring.

Yes, manually turning off and on screen wake is a solution, but so is covering the Fitbit with peanut butter every night. Just because something is a solution doesn't mean it is a good solution.

I think they have our money and simply can't be bothered with us.
I saw a friend yesterday who has a charge 2 and was wanting to get a charge
3 but now I've told her that there is still no dark mode in this model,
she's getting a Garmin.
They WILL lose money over this. Maybe they're too rich to care ..

Inspire user here.  I have "Screen Wake" turned off, but apparently there is still the double-tap feature to turn the screen on.  It is very sensitive to the double-tap.  Sometimes when it moves along my arm, it will turn on.  In the shower, when drops of water hit it, it will turn on.  If my wrist taps my desk as I am typing this, it will sometimes turn on.

At night, the OLED screen can get very bright and this has woken up the wife and myself.

Why can't there be an option to "Screen Wake" on gesture, on double-tap, or on button press?
