Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'

I love the quick view feature however when I'm sleeping I tend to wave my arms around which activates the display which sometimes wakes me up, especially if my wrist is close to my face.

My fitbit knows when I'm sleeping as it tracks my sleep so how about having the capability to disable quick view automatically whilst I'm sleeping, in fact don't even have it as a selectable option just don't trigger quick view when my fitbit knows I'm sleeping.

I would like to see the tracker lights turn off when it is tracking sleep. The LED lights are very bright in the middle of the night and have woken me up numerous times. The LED feature should turn off when sleep is being tracked.

Yes, I completely agree with this thread, actually came here to suggest the same myself. Just got the Charge 2 and love it. Like most, I also adore the Quick View feature, but my first night with it, it woke me and my spouse up several times. It’s a bit of a pain to try and remember to turn it off manually every night, so if it could somehow do so itself (either with an internal feature, or by going off the phones do not disturb setting, which the notifications already seem to do), that would make this watch near perfect (for perfect, I think updates to the sleeping tracker would need to be made!).

I agree. My new Charge 2 arrived today and I've been so excited to use all its features ... except I'll be leaving it in the kitchen at bedtime.

I am nursing my daughter in the night so already have broken sleep; the last thing I need is my Fitbit waking me through the night with its light.

This is hugely disappointing, as when I borrowed a friend's old Flex in the summer, I could track sleep; with this much more expensive model, I can't without further disturbing it.

Fitbit is all about health and wellness. They need to acquaint themselves with the body of research on the relationships between light, melatonin production and sleep; bright blue light is a disaster for sleep.

I'm not impressed, and hope there will be an update that addresses this, so I can actually start using then sleep function.

Honestly, a "do not disturb" option or sleep scheduling option would be fantastic. The light at night can get really irritating.

I would prefer to be able to define the hours of the day that this feature is active.  The Quick View Gesture wakes-up my wife if I move when I am unable to sleep.  It is very annoying.  If it is not possible to include a timer in the fitbit firmware then the smartphone app should control it switching it off and on at the defined hours.

After using Charge 2 for 2 weeks, quick view has woken me in the night a number of times. Now having to manuallly switch off before bed 😞

Agreed 100% with this thread- having quick view during day is fantastic but is a constant distraction/frustration during night hours or in any dark room. i see a few potential options:

- turn off via the unit itself (doubtful)

- incorporate scheduler or syncronization with phone silent/sleep hours

- build an IFTTT action that can turn quick-view on/off based on pre-determined actions

any help would be great! have to keep feature permanently off until that can be fixed...

Amen! It'd be nice if there was a window of time for which you could disable / enable quick view. I love having it on during the day, but it's a little bit annoying at night.

Yes it would be great if there was a feature on the device to turn this Quick View on or off , say via the Notifications tab (I'm using the Charge HR). Just press and hold to set it to off and Sleep Mode.

Would also be handy if it were timed like my iPhone has the setting to disable notifications during certain hours via sleep mode.

I wonder if this might help some of you; I found it in the Help for my Charge 2:

HOW DO I TURN OFF THE LED LIGHTS?

Find the Heart Rate setting on your tracker and turn it off to stop the blinking lights. You must change the setting to Auto or On to resume heart rate tracking.

To turn off the automatic display when you move your wrist, you can turn off the Quick View setting every night --annoying to have to do this manually I know...

I agree love my charge 2 but find the vibrations easy to miss as they are not as strong as on my charge was. Also agree that the notifications and display should stay on long enough to see

Hello Everyone

Fully agree this is annoying! My  charge2 is waking up my wife during the night when I move.

Fitbit - would it be possible to either make Charge 2 dim the lights automatically when sleep is detected or at least like in Garmin, could we specify the (night) time we want it to be dimmed please?

The LED's that monitor heartrate do not bother me at night.  Actually i prefere that they continue working as i am interested in resting heart rate at night.  I think there is already a feature where you can turn off heart rate.

What i would like is for the tracker face illumination to dim automatically at night.  It is too bright, really blinding when moving around in bed and it turns on.  This feature is on many other devices nowadays, smart phones, gps, etc...  The display can automatically dim based on your timezone and day of year, sunset etc...

Or at least if one could disable the quick view mode directly from the device (instead of going into the app). That would be super helpful. That way you could disable it quickly when sleeping or watching a movie, etc.

Please please find a way to turn this off at night without having to go into the settings every day.

Please please let us have quick view off during select hours, it's really awful when your partner is trying to sleep and your alta flashes them in the face because you roll over.

I second for having the quick view not function at night - it keeps waking me up!  It should either have the option to run on a schedule or automatically not turn on when it detects you're sleeping.  I did vote for it, too, but commenting anyway.

Upon further use of my Charge 2 (which kicks **ahem** by the way), I really think we need to be able to turn Quick View on/off from the actual device, in a similar way to how we can turn alarms on/off straight from the device; I usually turn my phone off at night, so if I forget to turn QuickView off, I'm outta luck. Also if your phone dies, you wouldn't be able to change the setting either.

+1 the ability to schedule dark hours, ideally I would also be able to turn off the heart tracker lights during that time as well since that is often visible in the dark.

I would even be OK with a FitBit accessory cover that I could put in at night to black out the screen and HR lights. I've tried a sweatband, but it is too tight over the FitBit.

Seems crazy to buy a $230 smart watch to have to disable the screen with masking tape!

Love my Fitbit Charge 2

But, yup, I'm the same..  It's like shining a torch in your face, at night..

Some kind of quick disable option for the quick view, would be awesome..  Would have assumed a long hold on the button on the main screen would have done it, but it only does notifications..  why can't this be for enabling/disabling quick view, and notifications toggling happens only on notifications screen?

Or as someone else (probably several) have said - it knows I'm asleep, so why not disable quick view when my wrist rotates - but leave the double-tap available?..

Thanks and regards
