I've just received my FitBit Charge HR which I've purchased as part of a piece of research I'm doing into behaviour change. I have set out to try and use this device to its fullest extent but on the first day I find there is no UK food database - very disappointing. I now find this has been requested for over 3 years. WHY THE DELAY?
I am writing a log of my experience for an article which will be published at the end of the year. This omission has been noted. I do hope it is resolved very soon.
Just bought my charge HR today and realised Uk database missing. This is a fundamental flaw that really lets down the overall experience and requires me to use an external app. Disappointing to say the least. Perhaps if I write to Which magazine (leading Uk Consumer magazine) and Argos (Large uk retailer that stocks your entire range) I'll have more luck, as it seems you're not motivated yourself to fix this.
Fitbit have announced that the UK database will be available in the app this month. They haven't given an exact date, but have said that it will definitely be this month. Hope this helps
Thanks to those of you who suggested syncing with Myfitnesspal which I have been doing for the past 2/3 wks - works a treat! Looking forward to Fitbit's in app UK food data base scheduled for later this month, but seeing is believing.
Really hope this will be developed soon. Lack of a relevant food database makes the device a lot less user friendly. I'd be less likely to recommend the device to a friend as a result.
Desparate for a UK food database the American one is of no use what so ever, this thing is desined to measure sleep, exercise, sleep and food it is of little value to have no entries for 25% of the data. my meaningless chart says 2600 cals per day intake 0 i should be dead.
if you want to sell uk suggest make it useable in the uk or at least offer 25% discount.
Can we please have a uk food database soon. My husband bought me a charge HR for my birthday and it's a great shame that I can't use this feature. Please please can you let us know when this might be available.
Agreed, hey fitbit can't you just sync up with the My Fitness Pal database? It works perfectly but having to log to two different apps is very annoying.
More database development would be great. I find that a lot of the pretty standard foods I try to log aren't listed. The app reads the barcode but doesn't list the item. So, I've patiently added quite a few products with photos and nutritional info which are supposed to be reviewed but they never seem to be added when I try scanning them again weeks later. I now either do a best guess (which is probably wrong!) or check the My fitness pal has a much more extensive database. It is a pain to have to jump back and forth across the two apps though.
Does not matter any more about uk database as microsoft have given a date when there band will be availible in the uk and theres will have the correct food database so time to bin the fitbit as it is so useless with out the database.
