What a good idea, Big-Al. Not that the US one's too bad - divided by a common language and all that. The only thing is, would it mean we were cut off from the rest of the world. I have fascinating discussions with Pete in Australia which I would not want to stop.
I'm on my second fitbit now and still no UK database, I will not be upgrading again if it's not available soon. Come on Fitbit, why is the UK being left behind when you have developed databases for the rest of Europe? You are clearly NOT listening to your customers!
I am most disappointed that the food in the database is USA - where is UK food. I have to go by calorie count for some foods and not by nutritional values which is most frustrating.
I will also not recommend Fitbit to anybody at my fitness class as some of them will struggle with the database - NOT GOOD Ftbit - you should have got it sorted before they went on sale in UK - think we were sold them under false pretences. I do love the Fitbit but feel cheated.
Finished the GCC global challenge and wanted to carry on. Found the FitBit Flex and have shown that it was the solution I needed. Have lost 14 lbs so far.....but:
I would appreciate access to a UK Food database.
Couldnt this be achieved by some form of crowd sharing.......ie when we log a food that we know the calories of (eg from Wetherspoons menu) we log and share it?
I've just started using my fitbit, I love it, but the lack of UK database REALLY let's it down as US products are so different! Please please can we have a UK database?! If so, what kind of timeframe is there to develop and implement?? Thanks!
Really struggling with the food thing. Most of what I eat is not in the data base, come on Fitbit, UK database please. Will not buy premium until we get it! How do I vote?
Very disappointed with what I thought was going to be a fantastic product. Why sell something in the uk that doesn't support its food base. A basic database would be better than none. Come on fit bit, you are loosing your uk support.
Why can i not get an english food log option on the Flex, it was fine when i had a Fitbit One, only changed device as i thought the Flex band was more convenient to wear!! very disappointed. also doesnt log sleep pattern automatically i keep having to force it!!!
I can only echo the people asking for a UK food database - I don't mind adding things and improvising but its still not ideal.
A little less "This has been reviewed and we'll let you know" and a little more getting the lead out and doing it would turn the fitbit from a good product into a great product.
I have been told my a mod in another thread that there are no short term plans for a UK food database but it is on their radar. This request is under review though.
But this request is almost a year old (I'd buy it a birthday cake but there is no UK food database with which to select it from) and it's been under review for however long, so "no short term plans" doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever that it will ever be implimented.
Come on Fitbit, you are missing a major trick here; I am no developer, but I gather there are databases out there that you can use that are already made & populated , so is this really such an onerous request to fulfill?
I've been sent a free fitbit charge for review purposes..... will definitely include lack of UK food database AND lack of response by fitbit to consumer demand in my reviews.
Here is my complaint. When I try to log in foods, the items that come up to choose from are almost always fast food. I don't eat very much fast food. I prepare and cook my own food yet I see no way to add my food in so that I can get an accurate calorie count. What is the deal? Isn't the whole point of owning a Fitbit to encourage a healthier lifestye and yet you only provide restaurant foods on the food log? Why should I have to submit a all of this information and a photo of the nutritional info in order to have access to real, home-made helathy foods availabe to log? Isn't that how your site should have been set up? With healthy natural foods? I'm really disappointed in my Fitbit because of this very poor decision.
