as long as fitbit don't add this simple feature, the more they loose out by people adding foods but no barcode because it's not avaialbe. Those people nice/bothered eough to add food will have stopped adding food and not come back to add the barcode as it's avaialble as favourite foods.
It's great that the uk database has been implemented but it is completely useless if the community cannot populate it by scanning barcodes and submitting product information.
Please up-vote the feature request for users outside the USA to be able to add new products to the database for their region!
The Charge HR is sold with the claim that you can enter food by scanning barcode (using your phone), but the only fully support database appears to be for the US.
Some foods you scan from international companies might be found in the UK database.
You can't add foods and barcodes to the UK database.
Why doesn't the UK - and I suspect the rest of the world have the same functioinality as US?
People have been asking for this on the forums for over a year. At the moment we have to make do with using a 3rd party application to achive this functionality.
Are bare codes not universal ? woul dit be possible to upload at least a EU one in language of choice if seen an app that fives you all details of the food you scan not just the calories
Also, I have just discovered the 3rd party solution, MFP, is not actually a complete fix anyway. This is because the entries recorded there only show as 'summaries' once back in the Fitbit dash, and so are useless for reports.
Something I was looking forward to getting with my purchase of premium...
Chop chop FitBit. A UK database is long overdue. These fitbit devices are not cheap so I think for those that have splashed out £80+ on devices, do deserve UK barcodes to work and for a user to be able up upload a code that isn't recognised.
It is quite frankly disgusting after this period of time that a feature the product is sold with is still only available in the US, not to the UK, or for that matter the rest of the world!
If nothing else enable the feature that allows people to add products and let it start building a database that way
Please could it be made possible to add foods to the UK database? I'm new to fitbit and really love it...and the app but it's a real pain not to be able to add foods...may have to go back to Myfitnesspal for food logging which is a real shame 😞
Just purchased a Fitbit Charge 2, quite impressed so far but completely surprised the Fitbit doesn't come with a decent UK food database, seems to me that this is a minimum requirement. If the functionality is there, and the data's available as other apps in the market have extremely good DB's (MyFitnessPal springs to mind) may as well make it actually work.
Thinking about returning the Band to be honest, one reason for purchasing was the belief the I would have an all in one device/app experience and that the advertised functionality actually worked.
I personally think that its disgusting that since the release of the fitbits some years ago, that a UK food database hasn't been created. Surely those at fitbit aren't that inept to devise such?
I personally use myfitnesspal app for my food entries, this can be linked with fitbit.
there is; and you only need to add what you don't find accurate as possible, it will only need to added once and i think it adds your addon for all. look for duvel i Added that...... best regards, Patrick
Please sort out the UK Database. somethings scan others don't, getting fed up adding everything manually. Doesn't give an accurate reading of my Macronutrients
Come on fitbit. The people of the uk is only asking for the systems to be put in place on the app. We do all the work logging the food and taking the photos of the bar codes.
To be honest I think what people are grumbling about is the barcode database, the products might be there if you type them in but who's got time for that?
I've been using MyFitnessPal for the last year which integrates perfectly well but if your going to have a feature you may as well make it work.
