Agreed, FitBit developers need to add the ability to remove (uninstall) notifications and other apps that users don't intend to use. Instead, we are forced to swipe through the undesired, in your face, apps to get to the one we want to use. Do FitBit developers really care about what users want or are they just focused on restricting layout and format to the apps they are instructed to promote? Pretty sure its the later. So annoying.
Bump and agree. Amazed that this would not have been discussed during product testing. Whether it’s re-arranging or having the option to delete the notifications, I just want to be able to swipe once to reach the exercise app.
Switched from an Apple Watch to FitBit purely to break the constant notification annoyance, yet devs seem to think people will prioritize this as a smart watch.
I figured it out. The notifications can't be removed like the bologna heart monitor that doesn't mean anything, or the ECG that doesn't mean anything because notifications ties me to my phone which sells me more crap and Google doesn't make any money unless I buy more crap. I have enough crap. As such, I don't see any value in paying to get mad at my smartwatch...wait, "fitness tracker" because I have to swipe past notifications to get to the exercise app which was the whole reason I bought this in the first place. As such, I will not be continuing with the subscription service.
If I need to pay to remove 'notifications' from my watch - I would. How much more do you want?
I don't want notifications on my watch, and have them turned off, so it's annoying to always have to swipe through all the extra crud I don't use to get to settings. Allow us to install/uninstall notifications, or any app (including fitbit pay, which isn't listed as an app).
I agree - I thought every single health and wellness expert agrees that being constantly barraged with notifications is detrimental to our mental health, attention span and focus. Why would you have some apps which can be removed but then mandate others? and all of the ones to mandate, why notifications?
Agree, found this page while also vainly searching for how to remove Notifications (which I do not use or want on my wrist) and I'd also like to remove Payment (which I also do not use, as I don't want to have a password on it). I might also want to remove Alarms (though I do use Timers).
I agree with the request to remove notifications from Charge 5 or at least be able to reorder. I do not wish to use notifications on my tracker as I'm using for exercise and don't wish to be distracted by notifications. Thank you.
This is so needed - please let us at least reorder the apps so that we can get at the ones we use most more quickly! But I never ever want to use the notifications app at all, so being able to remove it would be grand. Improving digital wellbeing means controlling what and where we receive notifications, and I don't want ANY of those on my wrist... they are annoying enough on my phone. So please, let us remove or reorder this app.
I just set up my new Charge 5 and was already unsuccessful in my attempts to delete certain apps from the watch so I can get to the ones I want more quickly. I wholeheartedly agree with the above comments to either allow users to reorder or to remove the Notification and Payment apps. I have 90 days to return this and I just might do so and go back to using my Charge 4.
Same comment, but for Inspire 3. Why put notifications first on a screen that's not even wide enough for the word "notifications"? A simple "uninstall" button in the phone app "Apps" section please, or re-use the logic from the "Exercise shortcuts" screen to support add/remove/reorder of apps.
I am an avid Charge 5 user, and I don't like a lot of the things I can't disable. If you could add the option to uninstall notifications, that would be great!
Hi @wildjuly, thanks for sharing this suggestion about allowing you to disable the notifications app from the Charge 5 with us. Because this idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Just upgraded from charge 2. Very disappointed in lack of ability to customize screens. Not all of us are teenagers that live and die by notifications. Exercise is my way of getting away from constant pecking. I disabled notifications so have absolutely no use for notifications screen. Really annoying that I cannot delete or move. Hr is getting flaky on charge 2 and doesn't have gps. If it did Iwould return this **ahem**. Might have to explore a Garmin tracker. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
After 4 problematic Fitbit trackers, I made the move to a Garmin. My older model Garmin is an order of magnitude better than the brand new Charge 5 that inspired this thread. The engineering shows they didn't just kludge something together and expect the user to put up with it.
