I just got a fitbit for Christmas - it replaces my tom tom cardio fit. I am a heavy user of Strava, however, I just realized that my fitbit will NOT sync my non-gps workouts. My tom tom cardio did it, why can't fit bit? Seems like a gaping hole for fitbit, and is quite frankly a deal breaker for me. Other than that I love the fitbit, but I need to be able to sync all my workouts to Strava and not just the GPS based ones. Please Please Please fix this!
Strava are encouraging users to log non-run/ride indoor activities. While my Fitbit Ionic automatically sends run, walk and cycle data to strava, anything without GPS data is ignored.
Can Fitbit please sync my indoor workout data, including duration and heart rate data to strava automatically?
Hi @antikewl, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to allow all workouts recorded with Fitbit to Strava and visa versa . Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.
It is very frustrating to have to log all my virtual (Zwift) Strava rides manually on my fitbit. Virtual or not it's still exercise and I need to log it.
From a development point of view the API calls should be the same. This should be easy to fix and a "quick win" for fitbit. However, it's not clear if the issue is with Strava or fitbit.
Would be great to see this feature added. I run 3 times per week outdoors so use my Charge 4 to record and sync data to Strava but I also do gym and other indoor cardio work (HIIT classes).
Looks like this has been in request for 3 years now 😢. Hope it gets delivered soon.
Fitbit really needs to sort themselves out because they are falling way behind the game. So many people have already switched to Garmin and I think I'm about to become another one. It's not something impossible, if Garmin can do it then Fitbit can too they just don't want to. How about give us access to our OWN data to export and use however WE want!
Can't believe this has been ongoing for 3 years! Did some yoga today and realised that non GPS data does not get uploaded to strava! My friend with a garmin vivoactive has no problem with this. How frustrating!
Weight workouts, yoga, etc. does not sync with Strava because they do not use GPS. Even manually exporting files doesn't work because Strava won't accept them.

Personally, I got tired of waiting. I’m now a Garmin customer, and I’m much happier with their tracking abilities. It definitely cost more, but, ultimately, the upcharge was worth it.-- David Clarke
Thanks for your reply to my post. I’m glad you’re happy with your Garmin - I might consider the Garmin or Apple watch if Fitbit can’t resolve this issue. Frustrating!
Hi @Danny023, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to connect non GPS activities to Strava. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.
Currently, I can't see all the data that Strava records, so when I show people my activities, I am forced to show them Strava, not FitBit. If all the data was transferred over, more people would show FitBit
Hi @WalknRide. Thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to see all your Strava workouts on the Fitbit app with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to keep the forums organized and make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support and keep adding your suggestions!
I had a HR 3 that stopped working 3 months after warrently was up. Cannot fix/repair as I understand. I was given a HR 4 as a gift as was not going back with Fitbit because it did not sync with Strava.
This would be a really nice feature that would make me again like fitbit.
I found the new method of syncing them is a lot more involved, compared to its old simple process. My watch kept telling me I hadn't given permission to have them synced, yet the app said it was. Turns out there was ANOTHER process to go through to give the watch permission. Like seriously, if you've given FitBit permission to sync with Steava, thay should be enough. All up, there were about 3 different permissions that had to be granted compared to the old 1 step process.
