Use iPhone altimeter to restore Charge 5 floor count

To remedy the disappointment of the the loss of the altimeter in the Charge 5, suggest you re-add the the flights-of-stairs count by using the app and the mobile phone’s built-in altimeter/barometer.

Gosh I couldn’t agree anymore!  Please work on making this a download upgrade for Charge 5 FitBit users.  Why would you remove this awesome feature?

Now I know why the Charge 5 is selling for $79 on eBay! Had I known all the features of my Charge 4 wouldn't be included, I wouldn't have bought this jazzed up screen version. I like the brighter screen but I would rather track the floor. I guess the screen software was cheaper than installing an altimeter.

So sad. The Charge 6 was finally announced today and no altimeter, despite early rumors that it would have one. Even if the altimeter was the only feature they (re-) added, I would have immediately pre-ordered it. Unfortunately now I'll need to look for something other than a Fitbit.

The absence of what for many is considered one of the primary functions - altimeter - almost feels like an oversight from the Fitbit developers.

I am still on a Charge 4 and will not purchase the much more expensive Charge 6 without the addition of an altimeter.

Should I switch to Apple after 8 years of Fitbit? I feel inclined now to do so...
