Users with option to create a Vegan group

Fitbit has a wonderful vegetarian community, however, vegans and vegetarians are not the same thing. There are hundreds of vegans using fitbit and it would be awesome to have a community where we can share meals and bounce ideas off of each other.

I completely agree! I'm so tired of seeing dairy and eggs!!! There's A LOT of vegans in the vegetarian group and we want our own space!

Please add a "Vegan" group to the Community.

It would be fantastic!!

I agree, vegans and vegetarians are not the same, and it is impressive to see that 80% of people that post in the vegetarian group are vegan.

I agree as well! Vegans and vegetarians have different dietary needs and I feel that it would benefit Fitbit if there was a place for both.

I would love a vegan group too. Have lots of non-vegan friends here but find seeing endless dairy and eggs offputting too on the vegetarian feed.

Would love a Vegan group to chat to other like minded people.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want a vegan group, I’m sure others can agree.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for sharing your ideas. I can definitely see how vegans would like to have their very own space separate from vegetarians.

I do have one questions in regards to what you mean. If you could clarify it for me it would be awesome! Are you referring to a group or to a specific section of the Forums?

Look forward to your reply.

Either would be great. Specifically for food it would be ideal , as I find looking at meat dishes off putting. Especially when they are labelled healthy. I don’t think they are, so feel conflicting emotions. (I want to explain why/yet do not want to upset anyone. Thanks for listening.

Kind regards,
Sandra

Hi @SandraEF.

I'd like to mention that it is possible to create a group on the web version of the Dashboard. You can read more about it in here: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1287/?q=groups&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1#groups

Let's see what other users have to say about this.

 Hi!

My thinking when I wrote this was more so for food ideas and support, so a vegan group would be beneficial. Becoming a vegan (after being raised a meat eater) is a very hard transition for a lot of people but one that is extremely beneficial. But it takes a village and the vegetarian group just isn' the right village for us. Vegetarians still eat fish, cheese, honey, eggs, etc and for some that is extremely offensive to see. I'm writing this after a long day at work so hopefully this makes some sense.

I would like a group in the app, as I don’t really use the web version. I look at the community tab on my phone app for motivation during the day.

Or do you mean a group created on the web version will appear in the app? That would be great.

Hi @MThorpe1 thanks for sharing this idea. As Lanuza mentioned, you can create a group in the web app but I wanted to flag this other feature suggestion around creating custom groups in the app, which is under consideration and may allow you to create this group in the future. Keen to see how many other members are interested in this group. Thanks!

Hi! I 100% agree and have been asking for this for ages. I have over 1000 friends on the app (since using from 2012) and a lot of them are Vegan and memebers of the Veggie community. I also run my own vegan website and know many are Fitbit users. With the health benifits of a plant-based diet, I think a Vegan Community would be greatly recieved and add a USP over other health & fitness apps. Please make this a thing.

Hello @MThorpe1! Thanks for sharing your suggestions with everyone.

We're happy to announce that you can now create groups via the Community feed on the Fitbit app. Now you can create whatever type of group you think would benefit you, or other users, and share it with others.

You can click here to read more about it.

Thanks for sharing your suggestions.
