I'm looking for a completely waterproof tracker with all of the features (sleep, heart rate, steps, stairs, miles, calories, reminder to move, phone alerts, clock with date, etc) all in one. When?? Please make this your next release!!!!!
The only fact that prevent me from buying a Blaze is that I cannot wear it while swimming. I have a Flex and a water-resistant (non-smart) watch. Two things on my wrist! Before swimming, I remove the Flex and keep the watch: I need to time my laps and to know if it's already time to leave e.g. (What I mean to say is that I don't really need lap count, distance measurement, ... Not yet! ;-)). I understand that Fitbit devices are not water-resistant because of the atmosphere sensor - but my Flex doesn't show me altitude anyway so I don't really care about the altimeter. You can make "Mr everybody" version/edition with altimeter and not waterproof ; and a swimmer version with waterproof ans skip the altimeter. Thank you!
I would love it if Fitbit made a FitBit Splash or something. Program in the length of your pool. Press a button at the end of each length, and it tracks your split times and overall distance swam.
Ooo ooo and GPS, so it can track your outside swims.
I would totally add something like that to my FitBit collection. I have a Surge for day to day, a one for at work (I work for the NHS so I must be bare bellow elbows) and the Aria scales.
I was very disappointed with the Blaze that was just introduced. Fitbit should have concentrated more on waterproof and shockproof instead of trying to imitate Apple. I have been a loyal customer and have gotten most of my family and friends addicted to Fitbit. Please come out with a tracker that actually works for sports, both running and swimming. It will sell! If Tomtom can do it, why not Fitbit? The latest spark has caught my eye. I will stick with my Surge until it dies, but this may be my last Fitbit if I can't wear one during mud races or paddle boarding. Come on Fitbit... 😞 Truly WATERPROOF AND SHOCKPROOF!!
Waterproofing should be standard on any fitness device in this day and age! Not just showerproof, but waterproof to the level that you can swim with the thing, so this means to at least 5 atm. I've got the fitbit charge hr for Christmas and it's only down to my girlfriend getting one for me as a present. I was holding off expecting fitbit would have delivered a waterproof charge hr for 2016.
I agree that they should all be waterproof. I had the flex and could take it in the pool but I've upgraded to the charge and it's not waterproof. I am constantly in the pool when the weather is warm and hate that I can't take it in the water with me.
I am a Triathlete. I want to be able to swim, bike and run all using my Surge. Please make a GPS tracker that I can use for SWIMMING laps, distance, time, splits, etc.
I've seen various request for waterproof and swim logging and ankle braclet, but none for the full solution. Can Fitbit consider creating a Swim Training Tracker.
Waterproof, add excercise type to to Dashboard, record session detail to record distance, Band(s) to record armstrokes adn leg kicks (important when doing either pull or kick sets). Speedo do a greta streamlined braclet which would be good in the pool, but as Fit bit is also capable of other functions it would easily beat the Speedo product.
It is not impossible as Garmin produced somethig for Triathletes. However this product is too cumbersome for competitive swimmers and (from what I can see) requires the user to enter the session as they train. It would be good if you could enter session wither before or after the session and the Fitbit joins the metrics to the session entered.
The ankle bracelet could be fairly simplistic and just measure kicks and communicate that to the dashboard ot the Fitbit wrist band.
I'm still wearing my original Flex. Would love to upgrade to one with a screen but Flex is the only one I can wear swimming. Please consider waterproofness with the next Fitbit you roll out. I like to count the time I spend in the pool.
There is SO MUCH misinformation here. The Flex is NOT waterproof. It is water resistant. Water resistant is NOT waterproof. Don't give people false hope and then they screw up their new device. From the website: Water Resistance Flex has been tested up to 1 ATM meaning it is sweat, rain and splash proof. However, the device is not swim proof. We also recommend taking Flex off before showering because, as with any wearable device, it’s best for your skin if the band stays dry and clean.
Also if you have a Force and get the skin rash. Contact Fitbit. They recalled all of the Force bands. That is why they replaced the Force with the Charge.
The Fitbit should totally be water proof. I swim about 3-4 times a week and I always have to take off my Fitbit! If it was water proof I would get so many more steps, calories burened, and miles! #waterproof1
I am 60 years old with hip replacements in my right and left hips. My surgeries were his past year Feburary and May 2015. I am restricted to a few exercises. Walking, cycling and water aerobics. I do not like walking and still recovering from surgery in my left hip so I am not able to cycle. I have been using water aerobics as my activity. It would be beneficial to be able to use my Fitbit in the water. Today I wrapped it in a zip lock bag and packed it in a waterproof pouch. It stayed dry while I was in the water for an hour. I tucked it in the top of my suit under my left breast. I recorded 4079 steps. I moved the whole hour, walking or running. When compared to my sister who was on the treadmill and stair master she recorded 10,000 steps. So I do not think my method recorded all my steps. Is there anyone who has a better idea besides mentally counting your steps for and hour in the water? I have the Charge HR. For the development team, waterproof all Fitbits, update the activities log with accurate info for water aerobics, make a waterproof accessory to cover the Fitbit so it can be worn in the water!
