I'm looking for a completely waterproof tracker with all of the features (sleep, heart rate, steps, stairs, miles, calories, reminder to move, phone alerts, clock with date, etc) all in one. When?? Please make this your next release!!!!!
Im using the fitbit Flex since 2014. I nearly bought the charge hr, because of the new features. Luckily i red that it isnt waterproof. So i posted a lot of comment an ask for a waterproofed version. Nothing ever happend. Now 2016 the new Alta appears. And Fitbit is still unable to produce waterproof-products. I love the fact that the alta automaticly switch from sleep to awake state and the leather-band is also a nice feature.
I dont know how you all use your trackers. Mine is always on my arm and only removed to reload the batteries. I wear it in the shower and also want to wear it in the warm season during swimming. What I bad joke to remove it all the time to get a swim.
All the other companys can produce products whitch are waterproof only fitbit dosnt. And also Testers always have to write they dont understand why fitbit is not able to produce waterproof trackers.
So please produce in a minimum the alta in a waterproof version. I would like to get more than the flex is giving me and already are looking what other waterproof producing companys are producing. If you wanna lose my as your client. Your on the best way to it.
@Neu - this waterproof discussion started back in 2013 and they STILL HAVE not responded! I have a Charge HR and will move to the new Garmin Vivoactive HR when it's released in May if Fitbit does not announce a version you can swim with. The new Garmin does everything that Fitbit HR and Surge do AND it's waterproof! Such a shame that Fitbit ignores it's customers.
Would love to see a Fitbit brought out that is completely water proof and can be worn while swimming. I, myself work as a swimming teacher, and hate the fact that I have to take my Fitbit off for several hours a day, especially since I'm quite active in the water, and would be interested to see how many active minutes I'm accumulating. Hope to see this happen in the near future ! Chantelle 🙂
Waterproof pleassssse... In summer I do 40 laps every other day (that's 2km of swimming each session, 6 km of swimming a week), and I can't log in this amount of exercise? Swimming is my primary exercise method so pleasssse, consider how few waterproof swimming stroke counter there is on the market, make one, you and I will both benefit!
Yes! A waterproof fitbit charge HR! It's a must. Please make this a priority! I love my fitbit, however the next tracker I buy will without a doubt be waterproof. Hopefully when that time comes fitbit will have come out with this technology so I can buy one of theirs again!
I agree! A waterproof Charge HR! I love mine But when the time come to replace my charge it will be with something waterproof. I hope it's a fitbit because I love everything about it with the exception of not being able to swim with it.
Many people get a lot of their daily exercise in by swimming and having a waterproof fitbit that can calculate distance swam would be ideal for these people. This would mean knowing hr when swimming as well as not having to import other exercise into the app.
Whilst waiting for a Fitbit solution check out the MOOV Now. I've been amazed by how accurately out counts strokes and lengths and knows which stroke you are swimming. I use it alongside my Fitbit. Wish Fitbit would link up with MOOV and vice versa.
Blaze should come up with a swimming compatible version...hate to put on another device just for swimming as i use blaze for every other practical purpose
I apologize in advance b/c this is a bit long. I will preface my request with the comment that I have been a longtime Fitbit customer and advocate. Since late 2010, I've used Fitbit products (Ultra, multiple Ones, a Flex, a Force (sent back the recalled unit only after it broke--Fitbit was still awesome.)).I currently use the Charge HR. My wife and kids also have personal devices and my family uses the Aria. Fitbit was a big part in a 50lb weight-loss starting in 2011 for me......I have been a loyal customer. I do not want to change apps, products dashboards etc...but I have reached a tipping point.... I would really like a waterproof device...like the Surge...PLEASE!!
I know I am not alone. I see the posts and threads for a waterproof model. Yes, different apps or a longer battery life would be "Nice to Have" but a waterproof model is a "Must Have" for many people on these forums. For swimmers...laps and heart rate measured real time would be great, especially for newbie triathletes (and hard core triathletes as well) I fly fish, and I hike into many of my fishing spots but I have to leave my Fitbit behind b/c it is very common to have your hands in the water. ...and I was lucky that my old Force started working again after 4 days packed in rice. I don't bring my Charge HR. If I'm not wearing it, it's not meeting my needs and I will need to get something that does.
I would LOVE a new Surge. My wife wanted to get me one for my birthday...I said no. There are now other products out there that are very "Surge-like" w/heart monitor that are water rated at 5 ATM that retail around $250 (I'm not going to mention brands). My point is that many of us buy cases to make our phones and devices waterproof but if we are longtime, loyal Fitbit customers, we don't have a waterproof, wearable option. Team Fitbit, please help me Find My Fit with a waterproof wearable, preferably something like the Surge! I would gladly trade "Stairs Climbed" for waterproof since stairs climbed are ultimately just steps anyway. Thank You!
@andywhyte - so would I but it appears Fitbit is not listening to its customers since this waterproof discussion thread started back in 2013 (flip back to page 1)! The Garmin Vivoactive HR is supposed to be released in May - it's everything Surge and Blaze do AND you can swim with it. I hate to switch but I don't want to go through summer with a water phobic fitness tracker.
Please come up with a waterpoof fitbit, soon its summer and i live on the beach, i dont want to have to switch to a different brand ;( i love fitbit. Does anyone know if fitbit is planning to make a waterproofed fitbit?
I would like to see a Fitbit that is waterproof and will track the number of lengths you swim, even if it's manually. I have a lap counter which I use. I use a different app to track how far I swim. It also gives you a challenge i.e swimming the channel.
I agree on the waterproof Fitbit as I love swimming, water excercise plus I live in a farm so I'm washing water buckets, animals, autos, outside things AKL the time. As of right now I have to either take it off or immediately dry it. I'm thinking of getting a different brand just so I don't have to worry about how wet it gets.
i really think that you should add waterproof features to several of the trackers such as the flex and the alta, maybe even just creating a string of waterproof bands for these two trackers.
Please, please develop a Fitbit that will record lengths/distance swum, as well as everything else the Charge HR does. I have been considering changing to Garmin but I would then lose the connectivity with the WeightWatchers app.
Please make the Charge HR, Surge and Blaze completely waterproof. We should be able to swim in water wearing our trackers, Garmin makes cheaper trackers that are completely waterproof?
I already postet several times on the Facebook-Page from fitbit, Worte to the Support and all they ever done is to say Write in here the Community. The Developers will read all the comments. Now over 1000 Likes and nothing ever Happens. Maybe they all can't Read? Maybe we all Seouls now wrote on Facebook. Otherwise we don't have any Chance to get Heart at all. The Garmin vivactive hr is a Little bit more expansive but it Exists is waterproof and can a lot more Then all the fitbit-Produkts ever can. So to all fitbit-developers WHO can Read. Last Chance to react.....
I absolutely love my fitbit charge hr. However, I would LOVE if it were waterproof so I could track my laps in the pool or ocean. I live in Florida and find myself in the water with my kids and have to always take it off. Just a thought! I would def buy it.
I agree a waterproof one is definitely needed. The job I'm about to start means me being in the water for upto 6 hours a day, I'd like to be able to track that activity. I missed out on thousands of steps last week on my training course 😞
