I'm looking for a completely waterproof tracker with all of the features (sleep, heart rate, steps, stairs, miles, calories, reminder to move, phone alerts, clock with date, etc) all in one. When?? Please make this your next release!!!!!
I would love to have a FitBit tracker that is waterproof! It wouldn't have to be fancy, just maybe be able to count steps and flights of stairs that could be worn at a water park. Then, be able to swap back over to my Charge HR for normal use.
I finally gave up on Fitbit to come out with a tracker that was waterproof enough for swimming. I bought a Garmin Forerunner 735XT that is waterproof and tracks laps, time, swimming efficiency and other types of exercise. Well Fitbit, you lost a Fitbit One long-term customer.
Yes agree it's not even sweat proof! Iv killed 5 Fitbit charge hr with just my sweat, I always take it off for showers never swim in it and every 8 weeks I need to get hold of customer services to get a new one because the strap starts to peel off and then rain/sweat kills it. I was in a 10mile race and it just gave up on me because I was sweating that much, get a Garmin its 100 times better and it's water proof up to 50m was great tracking my open water swims on holiday, a Fitbit surge can't do that 🙂
After using my Fitbit flex for almost three years, it suddenly died. It would not hold a charge, and nothing I tried with the help of tech support would revive it. After researching other Fitbit models (I wanted something relatively simple), I almost purchased the Alta model. But upon discussion with someone on the chat board, I was informed that NONE of the Fitbit models are waterproof, and it is discouraged to submerge them in water. Based on the lack of this feature, I purchased another brand of fitness tracker.
When the tracker is under warranty, and using a third-party waterproof product to protect it, in case the tracker gets damaged, it will void the warranty on the tracker.
Those waterproof fanny packs looks wonderful though, didn't knew about these. @EstherP210
I love my fitbit but I swim a lot in the summer and don't like that I have to take it off in the water. I also kayak and paddle board so I cannot track that exercise. I would love it if the fitbit were swim friendly. I would also just like to leave it on and not have to think about it when I shower etc.
Are there any plans to come out with a fitbit with HR that can be used to swim laps? I'm leaning toward another brand that has a tracker with HR and can be used for swimming, not just water resistant. Have loved my fitbit for years but really need something that can take me from walking to swimming and all points between.
I want this so much. I love the Fitbit community but I also swim a lot and it really sucks to not have that count. I've considered moving to a triathlon-type watch because it's what I would need.
I'd love to know where everyone is reading that any Fitbits are "waterproof." I only see "water resistant"...unless you purchase an aftermarket product from waterfi, which essentially disables some of the features in order to make it waterproof. This is why for now I add my water aerobics under Activities log. It doesn't add to daily step count but registers as daily activity in the charts.
I just saw that yesterday, only a week after I had replaced my fitbit and at the end of summer so less swimming...sigh. I'm still going to get it. I'll give my son this one. And I like the RG Bangle. This is a gamechanger! 😃 Happy stepping to you friend.
Time for Chagre Total - the do it all tracker: auto workout, auto sleep, GPS tracking for outdoor exercise interchangablr bands and last but not least WATERPROOF for the swimmer who want to auto tracke thier laps in the pool or ocean or any water activity!
I would like to see a waterproof Charge style. I upgraded from the Flex to the Charge HR for the watch band and am not willing to downgrade back to the Flex.
