Waterproof trackers

I'm looking for a completely waterproof tracker with all of the features (sleep, heart rate, steps, stairs, miles, calories, reminder to move, phone alerts, clock with date, etc) all in one. When??  Please make this your next release!!!!!

Hi,

I am also in favour of a waterproof tracker.

Since it seems complicated to implement it to the existing band (I am not technical but I understood more or less that the altimeter function is not very compatible with waterproof, for instance) why not going for a all new product that could be complimentary ?

Changing bracelet is not such a hassle, especially if I can recharge my Charge HR meanwhile i'm doing laps in the pool and still keep track of my distance, calories and HR. As long as the price stays reasonable, I have nothing against buying a second complimentary band

there are pages of post on the forum asking for the same

please fitbit, make that happen! 🙂

I would rather my HR was waterproof for swimming / wakeboarding - rather than know how many times I've been upstairs!!

I've been using a Polar FT80 at the gym for a couple of years now. It's good, but it's a pain.  First, there is the need for a chest strap for heart rate.  Second, it's just an exercise tracker.   Next, there is the Jawbone Up3- has absolutely everything someone would want in a 24/7 wearable- except one thing is missing:  It's existence.  Jawbone promised this last year.  It's now April and it seems to be more vaporware than reality.

Time for Fitbit to come to the rescue.  The ChargeHR is everything the Up3 is except you can't swim with it.  Make the ChargeHR waterproof, maybe add a lap counter for swimming and steal Jawbone's thunder as their Up3 is delayed and delayed again again and again.

Let's make the Surge the best wrist device going.  First, make it waterproof so I can wear it while I'm swimming.  Next, put all the features a Timex Ironman watch has (stop watch, countdown timer, audible alarms).  Lastly, slim it down a bit so I can wear it with any shirt with cuffs that button.  That's all I'd need (I think).

I second the waterproofing, I do a lot of swimming and need that capability.

I agree, waterproofing would be much more useful than the altimeter!!!

Wish they had a fitbit that's a cross between the surge and the polar a300. Which is able to be used while swimming automatically tracks your sleep and has interchangeable colored bands . that would be awesome. I would so buy that .

Wireless charging would also be awsome

I absolutely agree. If Surge or Charge HR were water proof they would be pretty close to perfection. I get most people do other sports, but after 3 injuries, swimming is all I can do. I would really appreciate to be able to get such and amazing tracker that was fully water resistant for swimming. A lap counter would be a nice cherry on top 🙂

As a chronic migraine suffer just getting back into exercising I'm interested in purchasing one; however, I can't justify the cost if fitbit can't be used for my main exercise-swimming. This is the same problem I have with the Virgin health miles program...swimming not counted:-(
Please consider designing one non-runner. Believe it or not there are other exercises besides running. Swimming is one of the best exercises for people with chronic conditions and it'd be nice to accurately track our process too.
Thank you for your consideration. I hope to be a customer soon:-)

Does that mean, if I seal the little altimeter hole with superglue or something better, my Charge HR will get somewhat more waterproof?

Floors climbed is the least useful feature for me. Despite the fact that it doesn't really work properly, I don't care about floors at all. I disabled displaying floors climbed whereever it's possible.

But a waterproof device would be extremely useful for me.

I have some feedback for your fitbit charge. I hope that your next generation charge screen casing can be replaced with material that is tougher than plastic like aluminium or resin and screen use corning gorilla glass that can withstand knock. The charging port change to magnetic clipping like pebble or manual clipping like garmin. I find that it will improve the waterproofing of fitbit.

Fit bit is a life changer. I would like a tough polymer capable of withstanding chlorine in swimming pools. Recording swim strokes would be a massive benefit to triathlon training.

Fitbit should create a slightly oversized silicon or plastic plug for the charge port on the charge

Would only need to be just bigger than the port and it would stop/reduce water ingress and help prevent Fitbit charge not working due to water damage

I love my flex but when I upgrade will probably go with a garmin as I want to be able to track my swimming as I do it.

Are there any plans to add this as a function to any of the fitbit products?

I wish that my Fitbit HR was waterproof, so that I could do steps in the pool.

I walk in the pool, and would love my Fitbit Charge to be water proof to count my steps . .  . .

FitBit needs to make the Flex and Surge water proof!! I sweat my butt off and that has destoryed 2 FitBits, but I also play in the water and everything else! I'd pay top dollar for that!

I do most exercising in the pool due to bad back and knees and wish fitbit would track these steps. Most days I do about 1 1/2 hours of walking the length of the pool and this amount of time is about 10,000 steps on the treadmill.  I MUST have encourgement to stay on track with exercising. Wearing the fitbit and posting my weekly stats on Facebook has kept me motivated to do the 10,000 steps every day even when I don't feel like exercising! It's become a game to see if I can beat last weeks step count. My number of steps would be much higher if I could record the steps taken in the pool!

fitbit PLEASE make a waterproof tracker so I can record all of the steps I do in a day!

They need to be water proof, so you don't have to worry every time you get in the shower or go swimming.

Hi,
The Fitbit surge supposedly is multisport, and it mostly is but it is missing one vital feature, swim tracking. It tracks kickboxing and martial arts but not swimming. I think Fitbit should come out with an actual multisport device or release something just for swimming that you can clip on or where on your wrist, other than that I love my Fitbit surge.

I totally agree and hope they take note of your suggestion!! Thanks!

I showered wth my Surge on and got water in it.  I wouldn't suggest immersing it in water by swimming.

I think that's because it's not waterproof... and that's my one major complaint too. Make Fitbit waterproof and allow swim tracking!

I totally agree.  It seems counterintuitive that while swimming laps, the FITBIT isn't calculating on the cardiovascular operation.
