Waterproof trackers

I'm looking for a completely waterproof tracker with all of the features (sleep, heart rate, steps, stairs, miles, calories, reminder to move, phone alerts, clock with date, etc) all in one. When??  Please make this your next release!!!!!

You could buy a seperate swim tracker and then log it manually, it might be a pain but it is a solution...

I would also like a waterproof Charge HR so I can track my heart rate while swimming. It would also be nice for doing dishes and giving the kids a bath.

If it's not possible to make a Charge HR waterproof, then I would love to have some other Fitbit device that I could use that could use in the pool to track active minutes and heartrate, and that would integrate with my existing account. I would definitely buy another device to be able to work out in the pool.

I teach a few different modalities of fitness programs...train teachers, senior fitness, aquafitness, Nia, Ageless Grace, SilverSneakers.

I am looking for a device that can measure my output/ exertion and track it class to class for myself - and also to generate data for encouraging others to a. come to classes, b. track their own output/ exertion levels.

Would love to have an entire group in each class doing this.

I teach 3 Aquafitness classes/week --- Would love to generate data on this class. Is there a FitBit that can do it?

Hello! I have been a firbit consumer since 2012..while I love Fitbit ..I have owned the ulta and now currently own the one...I was thinking of upgrading to the CHarge HR..but the only draw back is I can't wear it swimming...I really wish Fitibit would come out with a device that is waterproof...That tracks activity like swimming..it's such a pain to have to take the one off when I go swimming...I was lookng at devices like misfit and jaybird reign, since both of these are waterproof...I really don't want to leave fitbit but if will to buy a device that really does do it all 🙂

Just received a Surge as a gift and I love it...with one acception. I love wearing it as a watch and I've never owned a watch that's not water PROOF! It kind of defeats the whole point of a wrist worn devise design around physical activity and not include the ability to have aquatic activities. Heck, even the cheapest $20 Casio watch from Walmart are typically water proof to 100 meters. Just frustrates me and I know I will eventually forget and end up in the pool with it on.

I was wearing my fitbit in the rain, and water showed up INSIDE of my charge.  I thought I could wear it in the rain because one of the first things it said when I got my fitbit was, "Your charge is splash proof. So you can wear it in the rain."

One of my suggestions would be to make all of the fitbit water proof. It seems like as soon as water comes close to the tracker, it gets wet.

Love the fitbit.  I want to start swimming laps and have that logged.  I need a waterproof case or a new device that can keep track of my work out.  I would even be delighted to test it out for you.  I know several people who have thrown their fitbit into the laundry because they forgot to remove it from their clothing.  I know they would love a waterproof device as well.  Can't wait to try the new product.

I agree entirely with the comments about making the Charge HR waterproof for swimming.  I am holding off on purchasing it until it becomes waterproof.  I am looking for a device with continuous heart rate monitoring that i can wear for hiking, cycling, swimming and yoga.  The CHarge HR comes so close and I am hoping the next version will get there.

I agree! An IPX of 6-7 would definitely be great!

You have had so many requests for this!

Even WaterFi.com started waterproofing these devices.

I'm surfing ALL THE TIME, make this thing waterproof!

Look at RipCurls GPS watch for additional ideas.

They track all sorts of things with that watch, Paddles / Distance Paddled Ect.

They sell that thing for way too much and it's super bulky.

You would directly compete with them which would be seriously awesome.

Don't give up the floors because of the comments below.

Never remove existing functionality, only add new functionality.

Hi! Thank you so much for posting on the feature request board. This is a great idea. I know that there are a ton of Fitbit users who are also swimmers and a waterproof tracker would be right up their alley. I will be sure to relay your feature request along to our team for review. Thanks for sharing.

Please note that the Charge, Charge HR, and Surge utilizes an altimeter, which requires a very tiny hole on the tracker, to measures changes in atmospheric pressure used to calculate floors climbed. In order to avoid water-logging, we do not recommend swimming or showering with the Charge, Charge HR, and Surge.

The Charge, Charge HR, and Surge are water resistant to 1ATM, which means the tracker can be submerged and will still work when removed from water. However, this does not mean the Charge HR can withstand the force associated with swimming strokes.

I'm in the UK, I wear a Fitbit Charge HR and I absolutely love it, in fact I have at least 5 friends who have purchased a Fitbit on my recommendation as I rave about it so much. I researched many trackers and decided that this one suited me best for walking, running, boot camp, cross fit etc. That said I also love Obstacle Course Racing but can't wear my activity tracker as it is not waterproof. I'd love a waterproof tracker that I could wear 24/7....PLEASE...

I have fitbit Charge HR and it says not to wear in pool/shower.  Has anybody tried using the Charge HR in the pool?  I walk in the pool for 1 to 2 hours a day and would love it if the steps could be tracked.

I still believe that a waterproof One would be really neat and I would buy it in a minute.  I do water aerobics and swim and would love to be able to use a single device to track my exercise and to encourae me to do more.  In addition, I've experienced the accidental washing machine problem and dropping/losing my One in severe unexpected downpours.   The flex may be shower proof, but, in my experience, wasn't truly as waterproof as I would have liked.

Another vote for water proof.  TRUE water proof i.e. track laps as a wannabe tri-athlete (or bi-athlete  (knees just aren't what they used to be)  I would love to have a monitor that I don't need to worry about extended submersion.  (i.e. hour a day for days on end @ up to 10' depth)

The "water resistant" specs show the current offerings are very sketchy for this type of activity.

Not going to risk $100+ on a peice of equipment unless the specs show it can withstand the environment with margin.  I would pay more for this option.  (Hey if it were scuba compatible  that is an even bigger plus!)

The fact my surge is not waterproof is very frustrating for Tri's and swimming. (Garmin's competing Vivoactove and Vivosmart are both waterproof). With the ability to link multiple trackers to my Fitbit account I would really like to see Fitbit launch a Fitbit "Aqua" (or some other aquatic name). The device should consist of two simple trackers no need for screens or any thing fancy. HR would be great but I don't think optical HR works in water. The trackers would be worn on your wrist and ankle and track stoke and kick cadence & speed. Distance would be tracked with setting for lap swim or open water. All of that should be easy. Even better would be the ability to determine the stroke being performed and adjust caloric burn accordingly. Allowing it to link to a water proof chest HR strap would be great too. Getting all this data into my Fitbit account automatically would be fantastic and I would be a day one purchase for me.

I really like the Fitbit ecosystem and software so much better than Garmin but Fitbit is really behind Garmin in supporting aquatic sports.

Come on Fitbit give me the water tracker I really need so I stop being jealous of my buddies Vivoactive when we swim together!!!

I agree! Love all kinds if water activities and am a bit sad, well really sad, that I have to remove my Surge to swim, ski, shower, give my kid a bath etc. I would buy another Surge right now if this feature was added!

I am a person who cannot do a lot of exercise on the ground.  I have so many things wrong with my back and spine.  I also need surgery on both of my knees.  My idea for you is to have a fitbit which can withstand water.  I do water aerobics five times a week, and I have to give a false reading on what I do on the fitbit site.  In the water, we take many steps, running , jogging, and walking and its hard to guess how far we have moved.  Please consider a totally waterproof fitbit for those who exercise in the water.

One thing to keep in mind is that the reason the Surge isn't waterproof is because of one of its functions. In order for the device to measure floors climbed it has to be able to measure air pressure. Unfortunately it cannot do this if the internal mechanisms are closed off to water. While I agree that a waterproof surge would be awesome it would also mean that it cannot track the floors climbed.

As stated in my previous post, I would buy another right now if a
waterproof model was released. I would give up the stair feature in a
second for waterproof!

I would be fine with giving up floors in exchange for swimming. Most I have done on floors is 20 in a day. Most of my steps occur once I get up or down the stairs.

I, too, would give up floors for waterproof capability. (My floors are not accurate anyway.) What about a waterproof sleeve that you could insert your devise into, and then strap it to your wrist?

That can't be true. Or maybe that's the reason, but as you can see - this casio model is 100m waterproof and has openings for the barometer and altimeter.
