"Forgot my Fitbit" mode to automatically use MobileTrack

We've all forgotten to grab our Fitbit off the charger or have had it die during the day. Most smart phones are capable of tracking steps. I think we should be able to click a 'forgot my Fitbit' button on the app and use the phone for short periods of time.

If your phone has the mobile track option you could enable this.

Doing so will allow the phone to track your steps. During the periods without a fitbit on, fitbit will use the steps recorded with the phone.

In a way this option has existed for a few years.

Actually you may register your steps made while your fitbit unit was forgotten at home, via the dashboard page using your computer, but it would a nice feature if you were able to just import the data from your mobile phone.

Open your fitbit app @Stanfromlund

Tap your profile picture found in the top left.

Tap Add Device.

If your phone has the required hardware - tap Mobile Track.

Your phone will now replace the fitbit on your arm when your tracker is not on the arm.

Any steps the phone records will be sent to your fitbit account.

However only the steps recorded, when the tracker is not recording steps, will be added to your daily count.
