"Silent mode" new message alert

I would like to have the option for my Fitbit to have silent mode message alerts. I imagine this feature being just like you can set your phone to silent mode (where new messages will appear when you next look at your home screen but the phone will not buzz). So if I were to light the screen on my Charge 3 and had received unread messages, there would be some notification about them on my screen.

The reason I want this feature is the same reason I want a silent mode feature on my phone. If I am focused on something, I don't want to be distracted by a notification for every message that comes in to my phone. However, when I do glance at my phone, I want to know if I have new messages. The same holds for my Fitbit, which is more convenient to look at then my phone.

The current options are either

1) vibrate on new message

2) no notifications of new message whatsoever

and I feel like there is an obvious intermediate option, as I suggest above.

Hi @pacifist1c, and thanks for taking the time to share your suggestion about with us about having a silent mode that would prevent your from receiving the notifications while still being able to see on the display. It would be interesting to have an intermediate option, as you mentioned.

I like that the default option is to disable call notifications and vibrations while my phone is in Do Not Disturb mode. However, I don't think this configuration should be tied to Silent mode. I'd like to be able to set preferences for those modes separately. I keep my phone on silent at work out of consideration for my coworkers, but I would still like to get notifications and vibrations sent to my FitBit.

Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option for your notifications. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has a lot of votes. I would like my Fitbit notifications to be in when my phone is in silent, but off when my phone is on do not disturb. Currently there is it an option to receive notifications when my phone is either on silent or on do not disturb, you cannot separate the two.
