I see lots of 3rd party apps out there that use multiple Fitbit devices, but the SDK page implies that apps can ONLY be created for the Ionic. Obviously that can't be true because other apps exist in the marketplace. Can anyone provide some clarity? Thanks!

As I understand it, the Ionic is the first (and currently only) device to use "Fitbit OS", there will be new devices using the OS, and the SDK will be able to target those devices too.

@BrantL Currently the ionic is the only device that apps can be loaded on. Are you recovering to companies that access your Fitbit a on your Fitbit account. Ie Walgreens, myfitnesspal, IFTTT? These are. It apps for the watch.

Thanks for your responses. I'm referring to apps like Runtastic or Endomondo, which communicate with lesser Fitbit models like the Charge 2. What I've figured out, I think, is that those apps work through the Fitbit API, not the SDK. The SDK is currently Ionic-only.

Runtastic, endomondo do not run on or work with any tracker.
They simply interface with Fitbit's API and interface with your Fitbit account.
Yes you are able to write programs to do this. Or as I have done simply add a script to a Google sheet to pull my data.

Fitbit Versa is also supported with Fitbit OS

You can make apps for two devices now, the Ionic and the Versa. I am not sure about the Blaze. But as far as I know the Versa and Ionic you can make apps for.

@SeleneD as you might have hinted I confirm Blaze does not use Fitbit OS hence it does not support the SDK
