Custom android app (using fitbit) with no fitbit device?

Hi, I'm very new on fitbit devices and... I have a question about the fitbit SDK.

I'm developing an electronic device with bluetooth (BLE) to communicate with android devices.... So, I'll develop an app... But, I'm interested to connect my app to store data using a fitbit account. Its that possible? I'm not sure. My idea is transsmit data (through bluetooth) to smartphone and the app must upload the data using the fitbit web api.

You can authenticate with the web services using a Fitbit account, and I'm fairly sure you can write some data without a device. I'm not sure the benefits of doing this if you aren't using a Fitbit device though.
