Hi all,
I am wondering if accelerometer readings depend on the orientation of the device.
So for example, as written in the guide, if the watch is lying flat on the table, then the z-axis would show 9.8 because of gravity. And if i flipped the watch, would it be -9.8 or still 9.8? In the first case, then the readings are working according to the watch reference system, otherwise it would work according to the real world reference system.
What I would like is the second option, the world reference system, because I would like to see for example what is the acceleration I have vertically no matter what is the orientation of the watch. But I believe that an extra transformation is needed for that, and I hope fitbit does that internally.
Thank you
