Does fetch() use (=work over, can send requests to hosts on) a vpn?

Hello,

I have a raspberry pi with node red for which i want to send data with fetch()

I am connected to it using a ZeroTier vpn (Website of Zerotier) on my android phone and i can use node-red in the browser. Does fetch() work over a vpn? (It is registered as a vpn in my phone's settings)
