Fitbit Application Logging In, Companion App, Web Api

I've built an application that uses the Web API to do some reporting.  One issue I'm having is the Fitbit application on the Mobile Device will get logged out sporadically.  

 

I was wondering if I were to develop an Companion App to pull the data off the Fitbit, would the Companion App still run even if the Fitbit application is no longer logged in.

No, I don't believe the companions will run if the user isn't authenticated in the Fitbit app
