Haptic (Vibration) Patterns

ANSWERED

At some stage, the haptic patterns were changed (in terms of short and long pulses). Does anyone know whether Versa 3 is same as Versa 2, or is Versa 3 same as Versa 4? (I can't test because all my newer watches have died.)

Hi Peter!

I use nudge-max on a Versa 2 [or earlier] and Alert [with a timeout] on the later watches to get any sort of detectable vibration, which are inherently poor and also deteriorate quite significantly as the battery level declines.

@Gondwana- have a look at the documentation for the SimpleVibrate app which also allows testing of the 8 patterns on a working watch.

Incidentally the Versa 2 has the strongest vibration, then the Versa 3 then the Versa 4.

Thanks for replying, Guy!

I know of your app; I just don't have a working Versa 3 to use it on. ☹️ I recommended your app to someone who was going to test a Versa 3 version of this, but I haven't heard from them in a while.

Basically, I need to know which pattern on Versa 3 starts with a long strong burst. On Versa 2, nudge-max is best for that, but on Versa 3+, it might be ping (which seems best on Versa 4).

Thanks Guy; I might go with that. I was concerned that 'alert' might start with short pulses, which would be very confusing in a Metronome app!

I'm not sure that a Versa 3 has a strong enough vibration to detect a beat when moving your arm at the same time, it is bad enough when stationary.

But make it for a Sense as well and I'll test it when playing piano.

Here's a rough version that should work with Sense.

I share your reservation about the strength of the haptic; even on Versa 2, it's marginal for this role. Can I use that as an excuse for my poor timing in the demo video?
