Would it be possible to add a companion API that supports instant delivery of messages from third-party servers? It would be great to be able to send messages from a server to the companion app rather than forcing the app to long-poll to retrieve them. For example, my watch face displays messages retrieved from a server, and it would be nice if new messages were delivered instantly rather than every ten minutes, which is how often I poll currently.
Thanks very much.

No need for a new feature request, implementing something like this would solve the problem.
The above feature and the ability to run in background are the two biggest pain points in the FitBit API. If you implement this two features, the number of interesting applications that will be implemented will grow explosively. For example SleepAsAndroid integration would become trivial.
@JonFitbit the SDK is almost a year old now. Do you need help pushing the dev team? Any way to bribe them?
