Is a pleasure to be the newest newbie in this forum

Hi,

My name is Robinson, and I am the founder of Genius Wrist.

https://www.geniuswrist.com

We developed a good number of apps for Garmin devices, and we are eager to deliver our apps on the Fitbit platform, but we have some initial (newbie) questions.

We use a lot of content provided by Garmin itself on our website to advertise our products.

For example, we reference their development platform, logo, images of the devices/watches; we display many prints screens of our apps running on the simulator for the sake of advertising and writing the user manual.

I could not find an explicit authorization to use this kind of content in the Fitbit documentation and user agreements. Could you point where it is or how to properly get this kind of approval?

I confess I did not expend a lot of time with the dev tool, but I could not find a way to determine the amount of memory my app was consuming. I am prepared, and I am expecting a lot of hardware resource restrictions (memory, CPU, storage). How do I monitor these parameters to be able to optimize my app? My major concern is to find the right balance between a nice, user-friendly and good looking interface and the resource consumption.

Thanks in advance for your help!

And finally (for now 😄 ) , we have a pseudo-draft roadmap regarding our next steps in the Fitbit platform, but at this exact moment, we are prospecting. If you have a suggestion, do not hesitate to contact me!

I am not sure if this forum has private messages, but if it has you can use it

or you go to my website contact form

I did not put my mail here cause I do not want risk to violate any forum rules in my first message!

Cheers!

Welcome!

You can find a press kit here: https://investor.fitbit.com/press/press-kit/

There are also a bunch of legal documents in the footer of https://dev.fitbit.com/ that are worth reading.

You can check the memory pressure, see here https://dev.fitbit.com/build/reference/device-api/system/

Enjoy!

Hi @RobinsonM,

I  just want to say "Thank you" that "you" (your App) is now available on FitbitOS!!

It makes a Fitbit Activity Tracker to a real Multisport Tracker ...especially for Gym 😄 Now it is more than just tracking something.

But I know, the current implementation is slightly different to the implementation on Garmin (e.g. no interaction with the Fitbit tracking/start of activities).

But perhaps ...if Fitbit provides a API to access this data to start activity, combine data (if data fields are available) etc., it could be an improvement for the future.

Thanks & regards

Jonny

Hi Jay Jay,

Fitbit provides a  way to register an activity in your Fitbit account.

It is the WebApi (https://dev.fitbit.com/build/reference/web-api/).

As soon we port all our apps to Fitbit we will update our website to allow you to link it with your Fitbit account in a way your registered activities with Genius Wrist apps will be added to your Fitbit account.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Cheers!
