I just developed my first custom watchface.

 

I am someone with programming background, but I'm not a javascript developer, so this was definitely new territory for me.

 

I was able to make the custom watchface I wanted in about 4 hours of work using the existing watch template, the SDK reference, searching the forums, and a lot of googling.

 

This project was fun and exciting! I used the web based development environment and the desktop simulator to start, then exported the watchface to my Ionic. The build loop was fast enough that I could experiment without spending too much time on dead ends.

 

That someone like me could so quickly hammer out a working product says a lot of great things about the team at FitBit. Y'all did a great job! 😁👍
