Live syncing of Fitbit device to phone

I am developing a Fitbit app on the versa that gathers data on the Fitbit device it is then sent through the messaging API then posted it to a web API from the companion app.

My issue is that if the Bluetooth connection is lost for any reason or if the app is force closed the posting stops.

For example: If someone walks out of range of there phone and comes back they would need to open the Fitbit app on their phone to re-sync and re-pair the Fitbit to the phone.

1. Is there a way to post from the Fitbit device?

2. Is there a way to trigger a reconnect of the messaging API, preferably from the background?

That sounds like a bug.

Can you confirm:

• Which Fitbit device & firmware version
• Which mobile phone, OS version, and Fitbit mobile app version.

Firmware version 35.70.7.21

fitbit/sdk: "4.1.0"

mobile device: Pixel 2 xl

Os Android version: 10

Fitbit mobile app version: 3.15
