Notification Icon from Android

I am creating an android application, and my app's notifications are showing up on my versa, but the app icon is not. Other apps, like gmail and Facebook messenger's notification on my versa have their icon next to the notification title. Additionally, the notification title is the name of the person who sent the message, not the app title.

I know this probably doesn't really belong in Fitbit Developer, but you all are probably the most knowledgeable. Does anyone know how to add the icon, and perhaps how to change the notification name?

Oops... I realized this was for the Fitbit SDK before I posted it, but I din't realize ther were all sorts of other forums--like 3rd party integration-- to post. I would of liked to delete this post and repost elsewhere so I didn't look like to much of a dingus, but I can't seem to find that option.
