Versa 3 losing steps , twice today I have hit the 10000 and now it’s under 10000 this

My versa.  3 is losing chunks of steps , twice today it lit up and now it’s less than 10000 , my average is way above 10k

i have manually added on but was not sure how many more I had done 

how do I resolve this
