WLAN / WiFi direct access from the watch

Hello all,

Disclaimer: I am quite new in this field, and since I am not a full-time developer, I beg your indulgence 🙂

As far as I understand until now to have access from the watch to data from a server I always have to create a companion and therefore the phone must be close to the watch. Some watches have WiFi / WLAN integrated.

My Question: Is it possible to direct access the internet (on the Versa 2) without using a companion app?

Alas, no. As I understand it, WiFi on the watch is only used for updating firmware and sideloading apps for development.
