What happens to abandoned apps?

I created an app thinking it would be good practice. It turned out okay but I don't think I want to maintain it anymore. I didn't expect it to last this long.

 

What are some of the opinions out there? I thought about transferring the code to someone else but I'm pretty sure I lost a chuck of code when I didn't commit it after a build was rejected with fix notes.

Interesting question.

Also what happens when SDK 4 is removed and apps can't be supported, or due to changes in the build process aren't able to be rebuilt or maintained?
