current altitude function

ANSWERED

Hello, I would like to know if there is a function to find the current altitude of the device (preferably for versa 2) and if there is, which one.

Have a nice day!

GPS can return altitude. Versa 2 doesn't have an on-device GPS, but it can link with that in your phone.

Your other option is barometer. This won't automatically give you altitude; you'd need to overlay some maths and take the local pressure into account.

In fitbit library there is an example called altimeter I could use that, right?

I wrote a very crude altitude calculation using the barometer. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but you could give it a go. https://github.com/orviwan/alpine-snow/blob/master/app/subviews/altitude.js#L71

Yes, becouse the pressure changes in function of the weather, trying with a true altimetrer the gap is not much.

In the description I informed the costumers of this.
