getting error 0 critical glue error followed by error -1 invalid path

I've been developing a watch face which changes an image based on step count which works perfectly on the os simulator.  However, when I try to load the face on my ionic the pictures do not upload and two the images in particular trigger an "error 0 critical glue error" followed by error -1 Invalid path '/mnt/assets/./resources/image name' (image name is a filler for what the actual file name is.) Can anyone tell me what's happening, or how to fix it?
