onunload with Swipe right bug

When terminating an app the onunload() works as expected.

 

But terminating an app with Swipe right the onunload() creates an error

 

"Tried to operate on a nonexistant element."

 

Is this a known bug, has the Swipe right destroyed the app working environment before the onunload is called?

 

This is problematic as no one has come up with a solution on How to stop an App closing with Swipe right?
