So any engineer know that a specific plane is defined fully by any three separate points in 3D space. When you have four pins on a charger which all must fall on a specific plane you have created a difficult problem to solve from a manufacturability standpoint. The 4 pin charger design is just such a challenge. Fitbit has stupidly designed all four pins with spring loads to ensure engagement on the watch. What they SHOULD have done is 3 fixed pins with a single one spring loaded in downward direction which stands proud of the plane defined by the 3 fixed pins when unloaded. Minor design changes could make this fail safe for a hundred thousand charging cycles (easily)...

Hi @brumchad72 - thanks, there have been a lot of problems reported with the charge cable, some of them may be from arcing/overload causing the springs to fail.

They have no apparent interest in making the devices last a long time. Much more profitable to sell new units every few months.

I thought I'd add here that the Pixel watch 2's charging cable works with the Sense 2 and Versa 4, and is a much stronger/secure fit.
Maybe Fitbit should ship that with these devices going forward!
