Add more devices

In fitbit app there is an option to "Add more devices" It should be more appropriately named "Replace current device"
When you click on it and follow through it would ask you, no matter what device you chose, "replace with new device?" and warning you that it will disconnect current device from your account.

Having the option in the app to add more devices, with different nickname each, under same account *with same fitness data set*, would solve the problem. It can be done.  And, who knows, some of us might be tempted to also buy a pixel watch.

Hi @Mike40  - if you remove all devices it will work.

If you have an older device you can add a newer device but you can't have 2 new devices at the same time.

You have to replace to switch between them or better still make a separate account for each, given the charge time is short and Fitbit devices only need charging every so many days there is not much point in switching for such a short time (1 hour every 5 days).

A Pixel will need charging daily and has different metrics so a separate account might be better in order to not have confusing results. That way you can see trends more consistently.

@Guy_ I can give you one use-case when switching devices would be useful: Sense for swimming (more real-time metrics visible on screen, best swim tracking that the current line of Fitbit offers, yet horrible HR), Charge 6 - everything else that requires better HR tracking. This is an example, but it's not only about the battery.

@Mike40 @Triletics @Guy_ Nice to see you all around. Thank you for your insights and feedback.
I found this product feedback. Please have a look at it and leave your vote if you want to support the idea. Allow multiple devices on the same account (Sense/Versa series, Inspire, Charge & Luxe)

2333 votes and 10 years on from 2013 have not motivated developers into developing code that would accommodate more devices under same app.

What they can do, at least, is allow users to use alias login to access alternative accounts tied to their different devices: e.g., mike1 at Gmail , mike2   at Gmail etc.

Considering that all users will  soon be hoarded into Gmail accounts the option for alternative emails is now pretty limited
