I recently received a sense 2 and was very annoyed it kept automatically going into exercise walking mode when I was shopping. I have now figured out that the can be turned off on the watch. Meaning it will still track a walk but not turn the face to exercise mode which meant I had to stop exercise. You go into exercise on the watch and swipe upward before starting the exercise where you can turn this off....hope someone finds this helpful happy new year

Hello @Digb and welcome to the Community. You are describing the Walk Detect feature in the Exercise app. Fitbit added a Run Detect to the original Versa several years ago. It added Walk and Bike Detect to the Sense 2 and Versa 4. All three are on by default.
I used the Run Detect on several different models. I noticed that each model seemed to have a different time length before sensing the run. I tested my Walk Detect several times. It takes more than seven minutes to detect to. Not very good, because my original Versa detected my run in about a minute. I turned the Walk Detect off.
