Debating whether I need a new Fitbit

So I’ve had my Fitbit Sense 2 for 3 years and in the last 3 months I see can the “ workings” behind my main screen.

Since August it’s stopped tracking my sleep and HR isn’t showing either.

My dilemma is, has Fitbit changed something or has mine worn out and needs replacing.

Do you really mean the screen is transparent so you can see through it?

Heart rate isn't showing only on watch, or on app too?

It’s like I can see a circuit behind my screen, intermittently though, very strange.

HR and sleep pattern not showing on the watch or app… it’s like it’s been taken away.

Very strange about see behind your screen.  I've never heard of such a thing.

Since your heart rate isn't showing, are you getting any zone minutes, and has you calories burned gone way down, almost constant every day?  I'm wondering if it's not measuring your heart rate at all or just not showing it. If it was not measuring heart rate at all, you would not get zone minutes and calorie burn would be way down, but if it just wasn't showing heart rate, they would be normal.

I’ve been a Fitbit user since 2011, first with trackers then with Sense in 2021. When Fitbit and google merged, or cooperated, or whatever they’re doing, Fitbit went from good to bad to worse. My sense first lost SPo2 permanently. About half the time, it doesn’t register heart rate. After the update to the Fitbit app in Nov 2023, the app would only load about 15% of the time. Then the sense started dropping Bluetooth connection randomly. And it would take almost an hour of constantly trying to reset to get it to reset. All issues have been reported to customer support, and I never got a reply back after sending screen shots of each issue. Two days ago, it will no longer reset. Customer support said the only fix was a factory reset. This forum had advised a factory reset would render the watch useless. So I did the factory reset with trepidation. The forum was right. After factory reset, it went into a loop telling me to install the app in dozens of different languages. App was deleted and reinstalled. Within 2 hrs of the factory reset, the watch is totally useless….completely black, won’t turn on, and no response when I try to charge it. I’m done with Fitbit. Looking at Samsung as the replacement.

I’ve made my decision and as of the new year I will be the proud wearer of my new Garmin.
Fitbit and I are parting ways after 10 years, the new app “ upgrade” had already ruined my experience by going black/ white and looked like it had been designed by a 6th year student. With my Fitbit coming to the end of its life, I voted with my credit card to Garmin.
