Error when posting in the Sense 2 forums

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My message was really about a Sense 2 problem after the recent firmware update, but it turns out I can't even post a message, getting this error:

The message body contains forty five - ninety seven (in numerals, but i am trying to avoid the error), which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post.

Does anyone have a clue what this is?

Hi @ZoliE - this is an annoying intentional blockage so that users can't post certain references with points or dashes and doesn't help when you want to post a particular reference.

Hi there, @ZoliE and @Guy_.

@ZoliE Thanks for sharing this with me. I want to let you know that for security reasons our forums automatically prevent posts containing sequences of letters or numbers that could be mistaken for phone numbers or email addresses.

If you encounter this error message, please review your content and remove any such sequences before attempting to post again. This will help ensure the security of your personal data and allow your message to be shared successfully.

My message did not include any numbers, the numbers were only part of the error message.   But since I was not able to post it, I will try it here.

Since the last firmware update my Sense 2 battery drains faster, but that's not the main problem:  my phone (Pixel 9) also loses charge extremely fast!

I suspect it may have to do with how they changed the switch between on-board GPS and connected GPS, especially since I noticed that since the update auto-recognition of walking has become more sensitive, it starts registering a walk after 5-6 minutes.   I changed the setting from the default 10 minutes to 20 but I think it completely ignores settings.

I changed a bunch of Android level settings, too:  denied location access, also turned off background processing.  This way I lose functionality, but preserving phone battery is more important.  However, the Sense seems to ignore the background ban.  See the attached image, it ran 5 hours in the background, when it should not even be able to overwrite the Android setting.

This is getting to the point where I will have to stop using Fitbit entirely.

Well, now I know what the error was, it did not like the numbers in the screenprint, so I can't upload it.  But the point is:  background processing forbidden, yet Fitbit showed 5 hr background processing.

Hi there, @ZoliE.

Thanks for the additional information and yes, the system will detect that sequence either in your post or any file you'd like to attach to your post. I'm sorry for this inconvenience and please know we'll keep working to improve our forums and make them more useful for you.

Regarding your other question, as you may know the battery life will depend on different factors such as the usage of GPS, SpO2 and some 3rd party clock faces. Your Sense 2 should last 6 days, and when using GPS continuously is up to 12 hours. More information can be found here.

About the exercises logged, we have the SmartTrack which can be set up on the Fitbit app to auto-detect certain exercises. However, the Sense 2 also has another function which automatically detects your runs, walks and when biking to track your activity with GPS data. To turn this off, open the Exercise app, tap on Walk or any other exercise, swipe up to see the settings and turn off Auto Start.
