Fit bit sense 2 not recording sleep & heart rate at night probably

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since last Tuesday my fit bit sense 2 has stoped recording my sleep and heart rate at night properly. I often wake up in the night and before it would record that but carry on the sleep recording now it just stops. I’ve tried restarting, re booting, wrist placement, updates but nothing works and the help chat was useless, said I would hear from them but never did 🤬

anyone else have this issue/ know how to fix ?

Just an update to my comment. Sadly my positive experience was short lived and this morning I’m back to missing stats from overnight. Last night apparently I awoke at 23:10 and from that time onwards no Heart Rate, (Sleep) or Health Stats data were captured until from when I actually got up this morning. It’s the biggest data gap I’ve had so far. So all the metrics for today are totally meaningless as they are either blank or wrong. At the moment the only correct data I’m seeing is the time and date along with steps! I’m heading to the App Store next to upload App v4.03 I hope there are some fixes in there that will help. (Please be some)

@Kdukeok Just a quick question. Are you still getting all your overnight stats after you fixed your sense 2 device the other day?

Best Answer
The heart & sleep data recording failure I experienced last Sunday & Monday
spontaneously resolved itself on Tuesday without me doing anything
different or doing any update. My fingers are firmly crossed. I have to say
that suggestions from the Fitbit help people indicated to me that they
actually had no idea of the cause of the data failure.

@MissMyData sadly, mine did not compute last night's stats. This is just so weird and they must be having major bugs. My heart rate stopped beating (ha) around 9am yesterday but came back around 7:30am this morning.  I am so thankful my heartbeat started again, lol.

@Kdukeok   so perhaps something broader happened that caused another break in the data? After installing the App IOS update 4.03 yesterday unfortunately I haven’t experienced any positive changes. For me today it’s another day of missing overnight data and my App is awash with ‘no data’ ‘no score’ . I’m wondering if there are any Sense 2 users who have the new App installed and are not having any data/sync issues and who are tracking 100% overnight data every night. It would be interesting to get a view of the broader picture. Maybe I’ll post the question later.

Jumping on here to see if anyone has had this fixed. Mine started doing this two days ago. The main reason I got this version of fitbit was because of the things that aren't working now. Ugh.

Same problem here.  Maybe the last 3 weeks.  Approximately the same time they updated the graphics on the App.  Disliking a graphics change is one thing, but BAD DATA and failure to record is entirely something else.  If this doesn't get fixed soon, will have to dump Fitbit.

Experiencing similar issue.  The app is failing to record the second segment of sleep if I wake up for a while.  Used to work fine.  Suddenly crap.

Hello. Quick question. Did anyone get a full night of uninterrupted heart rate and sleep data last night ‘out of the blue’? Suddenly I did and I’m curious to know if anyone else did too?

Best Answer
As mentined previously, my heart rate and sleep data returned 'out of the
blue' last Tuesday after 48 hours of not being recorded. It has remained
okay since then. It is tempting to suspect the latest update might have had
a fault in it, although that has not been mentioned by Fitbit.

@MissMyData mine is working again.  How is yours now?

Mine all of the sudden just started working too

My sleep was OK until Fitbit support had me do a factory reset due to heart   sensor randomly stopping. On going issue since July. Now sleep data is horrible. Heart rate is somewhat better but most other data is no longer accurate and every time I call it's reboot & call back if you have a problem. I feel like support is just going to BS me until my warranty expires. 10 years I've had a Fitbit and they think I'm trying to scam them or something. Sad.

Hi. I have the same issues. I have tried everything to fix this, it works for 4/5 days then stops recording my heart rate from around 3:30. On my sense 2 my heart rate is clearly recorded but for some reason that is not syncing to the app so not recording my sleep. It happens randomly during the day to. This has happened since the new app update. I feel it is associated with the app rather than my sense 2. I also have inflated steps too, the other morning I had done 9k in steps even though I’d been up for 20mins. It’s really frustrating and fitbit/Google just don’t seem to care when contacted. I’m definitely moving away from fitbit which is sad as I’ve always been really happy.

@Kdukeok  Yes, same. It suddenly started working again around 4 days ago. Fingers crossed it stays working from now.

I’m also having this issue the past week or two. Some nights it’s accurate, but other nights it stops recording in the middle of the night. I’ve had my sense about 2.5 years and never before had this problem. Its updates are current.

I thought it may have improved on its own. One night only. In addition to not recording a second sleep segment, Fitbit reports that my heart stops for 20 to 30 minutes each night. I’m thinking this is not likely, as I continue to be alive the next day.

This has been an ongoing issue for me as well, this whole interrupted heart rate tracking and sleep data. I’ve tried all the suggestions each time, and sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t.

I’m done. I gave FitBit more than three strikes. Sad after almost 8 years of being a FitBit premium member. This company clearly, truly, doesn’t care.

I wish you all the best of luck. I’ll be tracking my health with a wearable product named after a fruit.

Shame on you FitBit.

Sadly yet again my Sense 2 reverted back to not tracking heart data overnight last night. It stopped around 1.30am but started again when I got up. Sleep data and associated score is way off today. Not to mention the other health metrics. What a shame. I really thought the issue was solved. Clearly not. I appear to be back to intermittent data tracking. I did get four full days of use though and it reminded me how much I like my Sense 2 when it works properly.

A new version of the App is now in the App Store for IOS, not sure about android, but I have just installed v4.04 Let’s see if any sync issues improve.

Still recording accurately after several days? I’ve been having the same problem since September (app overhaul). I switched back to Versa 3 which works perfectly. I would like to try Sense 2 again, but would like to know if the latest update has provided a real fix. Thanks in advance!

@User0816  I’m not sure if the new IOS App v4.04 has fixed the issue with my Sense 2.. I’ve had 1 full (and correct) night of data and 1 night with around 3 hours of missing heart / sleep data since installing it. On the night of full data capture I did nothing different to any other day/night, so no reboot or anything like that.

Just to share (as we are all experiencing some form of sleep/heart data reporting issues in the new App) I spotted this today in the new IOS App v4.04 :
