Fitbit app - Food Fitbit App Deleting Food Logs Immediately

I was trying to log my food today and it will not show any food when I put an item in. It will also not show anything in the database when I scan and I know those items are in there. Please help. I have a sense 2 and an apple

Yep, same here. Started yesterday. It wouldn't burger me if I could import it later from elsewhere.

Not working for me either. Use iPad and android versions, both affected. Today it’s been a situation of “now you see it; now you don’t”. Add one minute, done the next. Affects all foods, custom as well.Thought I was going mad. Really frustrating. Hasn’t changed despite rebooting my Versa 3.

  1. Log food feature is not working as expected, does this happen with the (+) plus sign in the dashboard or when you are in the food site in the app? Any food or Quick Calories starting suddenly yesterday.
  2. Does this happen with every meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, etc) or only for specific? All meals or snacks
  3. Does this affect custom food or also the ones listed in the data base? Yes
  4. Are you using an Android device or an iOS? Android, Pixel 8

I tried logging out/force close/reboot and uninstall/reinstall. Nothing fixes the issue. Other functions (sleep, calories, steps, etc) seem unaffected.

According to the facebook messenger convo I just had with fitbit they claim downloading the 4.58 version is the fix. Unfortunately I cannot even try that as its not available on my google play yet.

Same issue 4 me.  This was working fine until yesterday.

Cleared cache, updated app. Logged in and out and nothing worked?

I have an iPhone. My entries keep disapearing. I have tried rebooting phone & update software. This all started yesterday.

It happen in both + sign and food site, it happens not matter what category
( breakfast,snack,lunch etc.) also in custom foods, it will show up
sometimes then if you log something else the first will disappear and be
replaced temporarily then it will also disappear, I have a android Samsung
galaxy flip

Same here so frustrating spent hours trying to get it to retain food items!  Stats are all messed up now.  Unhappy 🙁

my app is removing all of my entries, not always at one time but slowly they are all deleted.

It was working fine until about 2 days ago

I have rebooted my app, shut my phone down,etc. normally it works very well

When I had another issue this year with app, I thought about an Apple Watch but couldn’t find any good food option since apple health app doesn’t have food feature.  You have to use another app and couldn’t find any that didn’t charge a fee.  Otherwise I think every other feature can replace Fitbit app including sleep

Starting on December 4, I'm not able to log food intake. I entered breakfast logs, and they appeared to be logged. However, when I entered additional food intake for lunch,i noticed that my previous food logs on Dec. 4 were missing. I tried multiple times to enter food logs on Dec. 4 and 5; none were successful. I deleted cache files, closed the app, and restarted my phone. None of these steps resolved the issue. I use an Android phone and an Inspire 2 Fitbit.

You asked for more details. 

  • It does not seem to matter whether I choose custom food from list, Scan barcode or do (+) search.  
  • I have tried adding to different time slots and will only keep latest item for about 5 seconds then disappears. 
  • Does not matter if I choose "log" or "log and add" more feature. 
  • Tried to add to previous day with same results - just disappears. 
  • App is on my Android device.

I have completed these experiments before and after app force stop, app uninstall and device reboot.  I have done complete process with experiments both yesterday and today no success. Hope this info helps with FitBit teams troubleshooting.

Looking forward to the feature working again it is the primary reason I choose Fitbit.

I am having the same issue since yesterday. On an Android. Have tried force stop and other suggestions. I hope it gets resolved soon, because it is the holidays and I need to log!! 😬😬😬

Same here. Started after breakfast yesterday (12/4/2025). When I enter food, it shows up for a few seconds and then disappears. I have tried multiple times and in various ways, even rebooting my Fitbit completely. Very frustrating. Same thing today.

Hello!  The entry disappears either way.  I will see it for about 5 seconds; then poof!, it’s gone.  Consistently since December 4, about 5:00 MST. Nothing gets logged.  I rely on the database feature of the app.  I use Apple.
