So I hit a bumper, there are credit cards that work on Google Wallet on a phone, but not yet on Fitbit watch.
According to Tap to pay with your Fitbit device - Google Wallet Help:
Important: Currently, some cards that are supported on Google Wallet with your Android phone may not be supported on Google Wallet for Fitbit. For now, if you want to use a card that isn’t currently supported, you can still pay with your phone.
When I setup my credit card, it simply said:
This card can't be set up for tap to pay
Your bank doesn't support the tap to pay with your watch on your card. Contact your bank for more info or add another card.
Do we have a list of bank that support this? If I contact the bank, I doubt if the bank staff will understand what I am asking for.

Like many of you, I have a credit card that works on my android device with Google Wallet, but it won't work with the wallet on the fitbit sense 2.
Looking at the help articles it says:
"Important: Currently, some cards that are supported on Google Wallet with your Android phone may not be supported on Google Wallet for Fitbit. For now, if you want to use a card that isn’t currently supported, you can still pay with your phone."
Question is, does this mean the card may work in future or are further updates not likely?

It means whatever you want it to mean. Fitbit won't tell a thing. Knowing how they dealt with FitbitPay (made it users responsibility to contact their banks) I don't expect much.

Google wallet is one of the important features for me to buy sense2. The cards that support on my phone not supporting on google wallet for sense2 😒
Not even supporting loyality and git cards also
I am using hsbc bank card. That is not supporting in watch but that's my default catd on phone
Is this google wallet or renaming fitbipay to google wallet
This doesn't make any sense for upgraded sense2

Exact same issue for me. I am trying to setup a Barclaycard. Tap to pay works just fine using the Google Wallet app so it makes zero sense why I wouldn't be able to add it to Fitbit. Seems like a bug. Main reason I bought this tracker was the still upcoming Maps and this google wallet integration.

I am seriously regretting my Fitbit Versa 4 purchase. It might be going back to the store because of this dysfunction.

i too have a card that is supported in the google wallet AND the same card can be registered to fitbit pay. But after updating it to google wallet, I keep getting the error in contacting the bank when trying to link the card in wallet to fitbit….

Update: It looks like I got an app update yesterday. I tried adding my card again and it worked! It was a Barclays US card. Can't say if it was the update our something on the backend but I was able to add the card. Hopefully everyone else sees similar results soon!

Still not working for me! Very frustrating.

I also had this problem.
Not a great solution. But after trial and error this is what has worked:
I had to reset my Fitbit to factory setting. And then make a new Fitbit account. I started setting up from scratch and made sure to NOT set up google pay when it came up.
My Fitbit pay now works again. Really frustrating since all the data is lost from the Fitbit and the Fitbit account but this is the only thing that still gives me Fitbit pay.
I also deleted my old Fitbit account so that I don’t have two accounts. Hope this helps!
