I'm trying to set up a Sense 2 that was purchased for a 13 year old as a Christmas present. She has taken control of her own Google account, but we have agreed that the account will remain supervised. When I go to log into the Fitbit app on her phone, I get a message that we cannot login with a supervised account. I'm beyond baffled what the reasoning could possibly be, we've approved the installation of the Fitbit app, the child is clearly identified as being 13 in her Google account, why can't we use a supervised account?
I called Fitbit support and their only suggestion was to create a new Google account that isn't supervised. I mean obviously that's a solution, but clearly then we can't put the Fitbit app on her device (you can't have a regular and a supervised Google account on the same device).
Any suggestions for better workarounds? This is an absurd limitation with no practical use.

Welcome to the community, @Pennywise828.
Thanks for explaining your situation in regards to the set up of a Sense 2 for a child.
The reason why it will not allow you to set it up it's because only kids devices are able to do so in this way, like an Ace 3 device. I will highly appreciate your understanding!

First of all, no, it won't even let me set up Ace devices like this. The error message arises when attempting to log into the Fitbit app, not when attempting to add a device. Even if I had an Ace device, I wouldn't be able to get to the screen where I would add a device.
Secondly, sorry but no I don't understand. This is a 13 year old child who would otherwise be permitted to have their own Google account and have an "adult" Fitbit device. If I took supervision off of their profile (or, for that matter, if they disabled supervision from their end as they have control of their own account), then there would be no problem. The age is fine, it's not like this is an age restriction, this is a useless limitation imposed by the Fitbit app. I'm the supervisor on the account, I've given permission, why would this be a problem?
In any event, unless your tech team actually decides to fix the app, I can't do what should be a perfectly straightforward thing, fine, whatever. I just want some suggestions for workarounds.
