Insane number of floors recorded

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For the last couple weeks my Fitbit has been recording hundreds of floors daily that I have not climbed. I have tried restarting the device and it's still not recording floors correctly. Does any ideas for how to fix the problem?

Thanks!

Hi @JMG221 - this is probably a watch sensor fault, if restarting and factory resetting didn't fix it.

It can be replaced under warranty but you may get a refurbished watch with other problems or you can just ignore it and remove it from the Fitbit App display, using Edit on the first screen.

I started having this same problem on 6/25/23. The floor count changed from typically 50 - 60 per week to 492 last week and 138 today. I searched the issue and found the forum for sense. One user suggests using "simplefloors" app to diagnose the issue, but it doesn't seem to be available for sense 2 to download. Anyway, reading the app description, the developer mentioned if the pressure is wrong to check the hole of the watch's pressure sensor to make sure that it is not blocked, and to carefully clean it. I looked for a hole and found that there was some dirt blocking 2 holes beside the button on the left of the watch. This seems to solve my issue! I tried walking up the stairs and it now counts this correctly. If this is not your issue, try reading the description of this app. I think there are some other suggestions too.

Hi @PSM2023 - thanks for your useful post.

It is true that additional apps aren't supported on a Sense 2 but cleaning to bring the floor count to normal is a helpful advice and may work for @JMG221  though needs to be done very carefully.
