Logging steps during motorcycle ride

I've gone to Google and it seems like this has been an issue for many years. Is there still no way to cancel/delete false steps from riding my motorcycle? Taking it off doesn't help much, and I'm racking up thousands of fake steps and calories.

Hi @WiredAces.

The only way to delete steps is the following.

  • Tap the Today tab.
  • On the Exercise tile, tap the + icon - Log or Log Previous.
  • Choose Driving as the exercise type. Make sure the exercise details overlap with the time period your device logged the unwanted steps or floors.

Tap Add or Log it. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

This is horrible. Every time riding I will have to log beginning time and duration, then go back and enter that in Fitbit. It doesn't take the steps away from your total count, just from some kind of reporting which I don't even understand. The bottom line is you can't use a Fitbit if you ride a motorcycle. That's horrible!

There should be a simple way to add a kind of "exercise" that stops the Fitbit from counting steps or anything, then you Finish that when you're ready to go back to normal. A kind of "on hold" for a while. Without this, it's not very good for someone who wants to track things like their total daily step count.
